  • Re: Label text: Declaration expected

Looking at your code, I realized that my problem was that I didn't have the action taking place inside a sub of any kind. Created a page_load sub and all now works. Thanks!
  • Re: Label text: Declaration expected

I'm not trying to change a label that was created on the master page ... it was created on the content page, within the contentplaceholder that was defined on the master page ... but this label doesn't appear on the master page at all; it's content created on the content page, and I just want to be able to bind data to the text value dynamically in the code-behind for the content page. The link you provide looks useful when you want to change the value of a control inherited from the
  • Label text: Declaration expected

Probably dumb noobie question but I need the answer ... so I'll ask it. Working in a content page. In the html design view I created a label. In the code-behind I'm trying to set the value of the text for that label. Label2.Text = "value" Then I get an error "Declaration Expected" So I try to declare Label2 as Label and get the error that it has already been declared in this class. If I right-click Label2 in my declaration and "go to definition" it takes me to

jdub12, How did you resolve this: Parser Error Message: User objects cannot be created in the specified container. I'm having the same at this time, could use a hint or two! Thanks -

  • Re: User objects cannot be created in the specified container. SOLUTION

Hey, Michael, I'm getting the same error, and it looks like my web config has the same essentials as yours. In searching the net, your posts here are the only return on a google for this error. If you have any info or insight I'd appreciate it. Michael Gerholdt (formerly of St Paul, too ...)

  • test module

Anyone familiar with an existing module that is much like a survey/html form module but has these features, or can be configured to do so: - test mode requires user to be logged on to portal - user takes test once only - after test, optional reports to user can show them a) just the questions, and whether they answered correctly or incorrectly b) questions and correct answers along with their answers and a test evaluator can get test results for all test takers with option that some test results

How about also exposing the portalID in Host | Portals for easy cross reference when you need to know where to upload files, etc?

  • New Portal and Default Admin

Whenever I create a new portal I find myself wishing that I could select from the existing membership a user to install as the default admin of the new portal. Often I create a new portal that an existing user will administrate, and credentials have to match exactly. With a little sniffing around I can find most of it but won't know what the pwd is unless I contact them and ask them. Anyone else find this an annoyance? I've never seen anyone else gripe about it, so - am I just missing something?

  • default domain and windows authentication

Greetings, I note on an application I have deployed that sometimes it works just fine. Other times it tries to prepend the machine name as the domain. In IIS virtual directory for this application I have specified that it default to using a certain domain. It seems that most of the time it does this correctly but sometimes it instead uses the machine name and therefore fails. I see this behavior when I come to this page from off the network and am challenged. I put in my username and id and it returns
