Re: Formatting Not Working
Hi Jason, Your page colorizes fine on my machine. I know we’ve had issues with idle processing due to various input devices. When I disable idle processing on my box, it yields no colorization/intellisense in the script block, which sounds similar to your experience. As our validation also depends on idle processing, can you add a bogus attribute to your html tag and see if it shows in the error list after a couple seconds? If it doesn't, then this is likely your issue also. As for mitigation

Re: Formatting Not Working
This might be painful to track down. A couple more questions to try and scope the problem: Do you know if this repros for you on a different machine? Are you opening the page inside a website or WAP or as a stand-alone file? Does it matter? Does this repro for you if you just do File->New File->Web->Visual Basic->Web Form? Would it be possible to share/mail a page/website which reproduces this error for you? My email is toddgrun at microsoft dot com.

Re: Formatting Not Working
Hi Jason, A couple questions to get us started: 1) If you create a C# web form, do you get the same behavior? 2) If you create a VB web form using code beside, does the code beside file work properly?

Re: Can't Switch to Design View ... VS 2005 bug??
Hi, First off, thanks for the very detailed repro, it made determining what is going on here a lot easier from my end. The underlying issue is that we use the Item property on a collection to determine the types that may be contained in that collection for intellisense purposes. Unfortunately, your ToolbarButtonCollection class was missing this property. Once I stubbed this property as below, intellisense showed cc1:ToolbarButton within the <Button>. Public ReadOnly Property Item( ByVal index

Re: js file editing: comment and uncomment not works
This was a regression in behavior from Whidbey to the current Beta. I've logged a bug on the issue, and we'll hopefully get this fixed in time for RTM. Thanks for reporting this issue.

Re: Getting Intellisense and validation to recognize new tags
The PersistChildrenAttribute decorator basically tells us to turn off our intellisense engine inside the control. Note that you won't get any stmt completion for your control's inner markup, whereas if you were able to create a child control collection, you could get intellisense. I'm glad to hear that this solves the issue for you.

Re: Getting Intellisense and validation to recognize new tags
Can you use a collection of children instead of giving each child property a unique name?

Re: Getting Intellisense and validation to recognize new tags
Unfortunately, the editor isn't able to use the ControlBuilder to determine what the control persistence should be. (Property1 and Property2 are not really visible for inspection) Would it be possible to statically declare your inner properties instead of using a ControlBuilder? Our intellisense engine is able to handle static properties persisted as inner markup, but it isn't able to handle the dynamic markup scenario. Thanks.

Re: Changing m: control tag prefix to full name
Hi, This also sound like a bug to me, and I'd like to follow up on this to see if we can find the underlying issue. First, does the problem persist after closing/opening the page or VWD? Are there any special steps needed to reproduce the behavior? Do you think you could send me a simplified version of the necessary files to reproduce this issue so I can take a further look? Thanks.
