  • Re: Is it possible to export/import DNN configuration as Xml file

All of dnn's settings are stored in the database ...backing this up on your old server and restoring it on your new server will keep all of your settings intact (which you have to do anyways for all of your content). If you wanted sort of a template for sites with no content, you could create a site with the exact configuration, then use that database as your 'starter' with a new name... ...or you could look into the Template system of DNN which can be -I think- configured to install all of your

Cherax wrote: There appear to be compatibility problems with Firefox. I've found that I have to use IE to update my text/html text reliably. yeah, that. This is a long standing issue between the free textbox control and Firefox. I don't believe it happens with Locopon's FCKEditor, so that might be an option for you ...otherwise, only use IE to manage text/html modules.

  • Re: Buy photos that I can redistribute as part of my skins

I'm guessing you would want to buy "royalty free" images, otherwise you will have to pay royalty (kick-back) to the image vendor for every skin you sell. As for your second question, I don't think it is possible. If the images were being used on your own website, you could add javascript to disable the right-click context menu (where the "save image as" and "save background as" commands are located), so that people viewing your skin couldn't 'steal' the images ...but since you are providing a product

  • Re: What are the steps to move a ASP.Net IntraNET to another server??

I am far from an expert, but here's a rough step by step to move a dnn site. 1) Add an entry in the server alias for the new site (what it will be when your move is done). example: localhost/dotnetnuke, oldserver/dotnetnuke, >> newserver/dotnetnuk << 2) Copy the entire dnn folder to the new server. Make sure NETWORK SERVICE has read, write, change to your new dnn directory. 3) Create and configure the dnn virtual directory in IIS. Make sure it matches the server alias in step 1 above

  • Re: Leading reseller of DNN Modules?

Snowcovered is the only formal store-front for dnn modules I know of. The other skins and modules you aren't finding are probably sold on the developer's individual website ...or not for sale at all. There are a lot of custom skins and modules that simply aren't available on the open market.

  • Re: Inventory Program on DotNetNuke Question - Trying to Get the Big Picture Again

You could probably do a fair job of building an inventory system with the Xmod module. There's a bit of a learning curve involved, but it's not too bad.

  • Re: DotNetNuke Benefactor Program launched

While I like the idea, I probably won't be able to support it (in monetary terms). I figure I'm a Silver Benefactor, but there is no way -as an individual- I can justify $199 for a t-shirt and a forum avatar. The prices need to be about 50% less than they are to make it worthy of any consideration, figuring it is a yearly subscription and not a one time cost. I want to support the community, I understand that everything has a price, and I agree that people should be paid for their time, but the current
