WCF URITemplate string length
Does anyone know how long a string parameter can be in wcf? I want to use an encrypted key ( urlencoded) passed as a string param in an XML/restful service. Small keys work fine but soon as I place a large ( 100+ chars), it breaks.

Re: ASMX Browser bypasses WSE 3.0 user token
Apparently this only occurs if you run the browser on the same box as the service and can also be disabled in web.config. I still havent found this in a search but this news from microsoft calms my fears :)

Re: ASMX Browser bypasses WSE 3.0 user token
I just tested this with the WSSecurityUsernamePolicyService that comes with WSE 3.0. If you simply make a small helloworld web method and browse to the asmx file, you can invoke the method via the browser without using any token at all.

ASMX Browser bypasses WSE 3.0 user token
I completed my wse 3.0 implementation over my web service using user tokens. Everything works fine except when I just browse to service.asmx. I can then just invoke a method WITHOUT using a usertoken like my clients have to do in code. Is there something extra I have to do to make sure a user token is forced from all angles?

Re: WSE 3.0 AuthenticateToken - how to fail a token?
This is how I wrote mine. using System; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; using System.Xml; using System.Web.Services.Protocols; using Microsoft.Web.Services3; using Microsoft.Web.Services3.Design; using Microsoft.Web.Services3.Security; using Microsoft.Web.Services3.Security.Tokens; using System.Configuration; namespace UsernameAssertionLibrary { public class ServiceUsernameTokenManager : UsernameTokenManager { /// <summary /> /// Constructs an

WSE 3.0 AuthenticateToken - how to fail a token?
I have a pretty easy question. All I want to know is how to fail a token with a message to the client if the username and password are incorrect : protected override string AuthenticateToken( UsernameToken token) { if ( token.username is wrong) <fail token> } How do I do the fail token? Do I just simply throw an exception and if so which exception?

Re: Rc4Final installation error [No relevant source lines]
The above user was using a very old .NET 1.1 version of the code and should be not affected by the 2.0 version of web.config. Rick, what version of rainbow are you using currently?

Re: Framework is missing from the source code???
All the source is given by our license. What framework are you speaking of? In the new betas we have the Rainbow.Framework but that is also given in our releases.

Re: Service not available, closing transmission channel. The server response was: Cannot connect to SMTP server 172.18.9.41 (172.18.9.41:25), connect error 10061
Seems you dont have STMP configured for your box or the box located at that IP.

Re: Running database setup does nothing.
What version are you running? In RB 2006 on the .NET 1.1 framework, we provide setup scripts in the event you cant get the install to work. If rainbow just sets up your system tables then delete the db and try to install again. There is mostly an issue with your connection.
