  • Re: Dot/Period in module folder name

I had this problem on a DNN 2.x site. After looking for some time, I found out that a patch was missing on the operating system. Sorry, don't have a link to it, but if you look on the Microsoft site, you can probably find. Hope this helps. Todd

  • Re: Once upon a time the Repository Module...

Deflo, The RDM module is alive and well. As soon as the DNN core team approves the module, the Repository module will be released via the Dotnetnuke site. A project team has been assembled and we are meeting weekly. In the meantime, you can use the pre-release version of the module at this site . Steve has donated the code to DNN and our team will be enhancing it. You can check on the module's progress by reviewing the project status here . Hope that this meets your requirements. Todd

  • Re: Anyone used any of these 4 Hosts?

Slope, I switched to websecurestores and am quite impressed with my website response. I use the $9.95 / month plan - which gives me a great deal of storage. Todd

  • Re: (newbie) Installation completed... but can't login with 'host' or 'admin'

If you can't login with host/host or admin/admin, it appears that your installation failed! I would start the process over by doing the following: 1. Delete the instance of DNN created in SQL server. 2. Delete the existing DNN files in the folder you chose. 3. Unzip the non-source version of DNN into the folder you have chosen. 4. Rename the release.config to web.config. 5. Edit the web.config to point to your installation of SQL Server. 6. Make sure that IIS "sees" your site on the folder that you

  • Re: Can't change user roles!

First, add a new role to you site: Admin > Security Roles ---> Name it something like publisher? Second, update each user that you want to have "publisher" role in: Admin > User Accounts > Edit > Manage Roles for User Third, on each page where you want the user to have edit rights, remove the "registered user" from the edit role and add your new role at Settings > Permissions. If you have assigned the registered user as an edit role at the page level, remove it there Page Functions

Volcano, As long as you have the ZLDNN Photo Album PA, you can load a new module into you DNN site by going to: Host > Module Definition > Upload New Module Pick you Photo Album Zip File and press Upload New Module. Review the messages to make sure everything worked. If yes, then your module will be available for use after you add it to a page. Todd

  • Re: OffTopic: MDSN Subscription

I know how you are feeling. It would be wonderful if MS had pricing for the individual developer. As the lone developer in my company, it is quite expensive to purchase the developer tools required for building Microsoft solutions - but I doubt that MS is going to drop the price. Anyway, I have found some two year Universal Subscriptions with a free upgrade to one of the three Team Systems. I think that I will pull the trigger on the purchase tommorrow. Hopefully, I will not have any surprises. Thanks

  • OffTopic: MDSN Subscription

I know this is off topic, but I wanted to get some opinions on which version of the MSDN subscription developers are using, if any, for DNN development. I have purchased the Universal in the past, to get the latest versions of the Office Products and Operating Systems, but the new versions are somewhat confusing. I would like to get a copy of the Visual Studio 2005/SQL Server 2005 for development purposes, but when you start looking at the individual costs, it comes close to the cost of a subscription
