  • Re: Windows Authentication for DNN3.0

Scott, First let me say, "Well said." Tam has been a contributor to the community as have many others over the past few years. To see community members berating him for his decision, which is rightfully his, is disheartening at best. Listen, I am saying this even though I am not a recipient of the source code either. We have a major government agency looking to leave DNN for Sharepoint due to the shared user, membership provider, windows authentication issue. However, despite this, taking shots at

  • Re: How to rollback the database to the version 3.0.12 ?

We usually backup the DB and files prior to upgrades. If you did this, simply restore the DB and then lay the old files back down. Reconnect and you're set.

  • Re: DotNetNuke Trademark Policy Posted...

Excellent job Shaun. The professionals behind the scenes certainly shine through in the new document. One comment, in the document you refer to Perpetual Motion Interactive Systems, Inc. as "PMI". This may be confusing since I believe that "PMI" is a registered trademark or intellectual property item of Project Management Institute. Might be alittle confusing for some folks who are familiar or active in the Project Management Institute. Again, nice work on the document.

  • Other Authentication Providers?

Does anyone else know of other alternative authentication providers available commercially or openly for DNN 3.1? If so, can we list them here. I am particulary interested in ADSI/Windows authentication. Yes, I am aware of the TTT Windows Authentication module(s). Just wanted to know what, if any other options are currently available or need to be created.

  • Re: TTT Authentication, how to get better support

Dan and Randy, Just to clarify further, this is not a DNN problem either. This is core functionality of the .Net framework on IIS exposed through ASP.Net. Web.Config files are hierarchical in a website, however in reality it is only the security parameters in the web.config than can be completely modified in a subordinate web.config file. There are many threads and articles on the subject. HTH

  • Re: Multiple Module Addition Problem

Check your module definition. Most likely you have more than one or more than one view control. HTH

  • DNN 3.1 / Windows Authentication / Multiple Portals - Users Not Created

Yes, I know there are two other VERY long Windows Authentication threads but let's be honest, after spending two hours wading through it all there is as much dis-information as there is information in those threads. Therefore I thought I would ask a very specific question in a new thread. We are upgrading a DNN 2.1.2 installation that has about 50 portals along with Windows Authentication. When a new users hits any of the portals, a new user record was created if the user did not exist. In our tests

Thanks Jeremy! I guess I'm just a day late and a dollar short eh?!?! Sotry of my life. haha Is this going to be in 3.1.1 (or whatever the next maintenance release will be)? I won't ask for an ETA on the 3.1.1 release as I know how that works. ;)

  • BUG? DNN 3.1, Friendly URLS and URL Parameters

I did not find any previous posts on this and did not find anything in the bug tracker. DNN 3.1 The problem is the when getting the value of a URL parameter using Request.QueryString("SDATE") for example. With friendly URLs on and a URL formatted as URL #1 below we get duplicate values returned SDATE="2005-05-01,2005-05-01" when it should be SDATE="2005-05-01" However turning OFF Friendly URLs (FURL)s using URL #2 the value comes back correctly. NOTE: This behaviour is different than in DNN 3.0.13
