  • Re: textarea containing html

Now that I think about it, I wasn't being very specific. I don't know if it's a DNN thing or an FTB thing, but if the URL I attempt to enter in the textarea is from the same site, it turns it into a releative link. For example, if my site is at www.abc.com , and I enter: <TEXTAREA> &lt;a href=" http://www.abc.com"&gt;Hello World!&lt;/a&gt; </TEXTAREA> the result is: href="/helloWorld" ... which is obviously no good if someone pastes it into their site.

I was thinking the same thing, but wouldn't that basically create a nested form inside an existing form? Won't I get arrested for that?

  • textarea containing html

I'm adding a run-of-the-mill "link to us" page for a site I'm working on, and need to display banners with html code (in a textarea box) for them to copy and paste. Basically, I'm trying to reproduce this: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates/homepage Extremely simple to do on a static page, but when I try to do this in DNN by using a text/html control and hand writing it in html view... the result isn't good. It just overrides my code with its own - or eliminates it completely. Is there a

That's what I've been trying to do. The Users table is easy enough, but it's the profiles table I'm making a mess of (while tying to pull specifics about users)

  • Non Admins view Members

Is there a simple module or anything that will allow me to provide a listing of registered users to a non-admin? I need to be able to display FName, LName, Username, City, and State to someone within our company without give them admin access. I've been trying to do this with a datagrid... but I keep making an SQL mess and I'm never getting the info I need. It's probably much easier than I'm making it out to be. Thanks for any input.

  • Re: Block IP or domain

Have you checked into Watch Dog ? I haven't used it (yet), but I've heard good things about it. As I understand it, it's a full featured site protection/security system for DNN, but I'm pretty sure IP blocking is one of the standard features.

  • email surveys

I'm looking into methods that would enable me to build small surveys in to body of emails/newsletters. I know a lot of third party newsletter management companies do this (if fact you see them in DotNetNuke Newsletters), but I wanted to see if I could find a more cost efficient way to implement this. Are there any DNN modules out there with that level of sophistication? If not, has anyone used or heard of a good non-DNN asp.net application that could provide this type of functionality? Thanks, Bob

Thanks for this. I was suprised to see one of my sites listed. I'm not sure how you came across it (it one of my rougher looking sites).. but it was cool to see it there.

jbrinkman wrote: Quite honestly, when working on a site, I don't pay for skins. I pay a graphics professional for a "design" which I then turn into a skin. This allows me to figure out where it makes sense to use a skin object, some CSS, a little javascript or even just plain HTML. The graphics professional can worry about what looks good, and I can worry about how to take that design and make it work "good". If you have any good designers you would like to share... please do! Most of the designers

I have to agree. I'm seriously impressed with your calendar of events. I've been searching high & low for something similar to that, but haven't been able to find anything that even comes close. Is that your own creation as well?
