• Two-way databinding inside FormView doesn't work with databound controls inside asp:Panel

  I have some weird problem (I'm working with Beta2). I have a FormView on my page that bound to ObjectDataSource. Inside this FormView I have some TextBoxes, some of them are directly inside EditItemTemplate but some are wraped by asp:Panel control. So, the thing is that when I update my business object I didn't get changed values back from controls that inside this asp:Panel control. It there somebody else around who can't get it to work?   I use WebConfigurationManager from System.Web.Configuration : using ( SqlConnection db_conn = new SqlConnection ( WebConfigurationManager .ConnectionStrings[ "SQLConnStr" ].ConnectionString)) ... Does anybody know if there is any difference between WebConfigurationManager and ConfigurationManager?

• How to keep client id of web controls.

  If I place a control on a form and setup it's id property with let say "idMyDropDownControl" it get's rendered on client side something like "ctl00_idMyDropDownControl" but I want to have the same id for web control on the client side so I could use it in client script. Is there some option or workaround for doing this?

  I once tried to install SQL Server 2000 over SQL 2005 Express and there was a problem that they both used the same port by default, so I get rid of SQL 2005 Express. Probably if you setup ports manually they will work both at the same time.

  Right, it doesn't work only if DataSource property assgined. My workaround for this bug is to use custom commands and bind value of id to CommandArgument property. I described my solution here: http://forums.asp.net/900598/ShowPost.aspx#900598

  I understand your reasons to not databind hidden fields and use DataKeys array instead. But it looks like there is a problem with this approach. DataKeys array doesn't get populated if I use paging and I process postback not from the first page. The scenario looks like this... I load page with a GridView. If I click some row (CommandButton or LinkButton) right away, then DataKeys array gets populated and everything is fine, but if I click on page link first and after page gets reloaded try to click
