Re: Crystal Reports Release 2 and DotNetNuke... why does viewer give MinMax persistance error?!
I was on the Business Objects site and cam across a sample chapter on web enabling Crystal Reports. I wish I had this when I first started. It seems to be pretty inclusive. Hope this helps... and gets more people involved using CR with .Net. I wasn't a fan of CR until my company purchased CR XI. I must say... they've come a long way in making it more user friendly. Their site is still difficult to find an answer on, but 3rd party books like this seem to spell things out much better. http://www.businessobjects

Re: Crystal Reports Release 2 and DotNetNuke... why does viewer give MinMax persistance error?!
I used code samples I found on aspalliance.com. Try doing a search on there and you should find a few decent examples of using the CrystalReportViewer. Also, FYI - I figured out some of my problem above. It turns out that I was assuming I could just import my old modules into VS2005 and start working on them. Well... I found out that .Net 2.0 doesn't pre-compile the code into DLL's any longer on websites... among several other differences. I had to basically start from scratch on any modules I wanted

Re: Can you speed up this DNN Site?
I saved the front page of your site (choosing save webpage complete) and I now see what you are talking about. There are over 100k of .js files. One of them is 73k by itself. This can definitely be slow on a dial up connection. I don't know any way around this aside from maybe making a splash page that comes up before the users get to the site, just to let them know they reached the right site. Then have them come inside to the DNN potion of the site. The good news is that the .js files should only

Re: Can you speed up this DNN Site?
If you haven't done so yet... you may want to look into the database response time to see if that's where the issue lies... since DNN hits the database multiple times on each page request. The DNN requests are small, but if other sites are hitting the database and slowing it down... your site will suffer as a result. There is also an option for cache performance settings under the host site settings. Since your site doesn't look like it should change too much, you might try upping it to "heavy caching

How do I get the ascx page linked to the codebehind again?
I upgraded to DNN4 and am working with Visual Studio 2005 for the first time. This whole "web site instead of web project" thing has me confused... especially when dotnetnuke is involved. I'm working on a custom module (that used to work fine in DNN3) and I can't figure out how to make the code go to the codebehind when I double click a button. I used to be able to double click a button, and a new button click event would be written to the codebehind file. Now I double click and only get script in

Crystal Reports Release 2 and DotNetNuke... why does viewer give MinMax persistance error?!
I have been developing custom modules using DotNetNuke for a while now with DNN3 and Crystal Reports XI. I decided to upgrade to DNN4 in order to start using Visual Studio 2005 and .Net 2.0 features in my modules. My modules using Crystal Reports did not work after converting them. I've stripped everything out of the page and started fresh, but I get the error " MinMax persistance type of cookie requires a ModuleId " as soon as I add the reference at the top of the ascx page. Below is the reference

Re: Need architecture advice for multi-page report module...
I just downloaded and am looking at the Blog project. It's definitely interesting and a lot more complex than any of the included modules. Thanks for the info. An extension of my original question... I'd like to pass data between these different ascx files, but am unsure of the best way to do this. For example, I have one main report display module that will be at the bottom of each report page. At the top of each page is a unique module for each report to collect parameters from the user. I'd like

How the heck do I delete this thing now?!
I screwed up a custom module & tried to delete it, but am getting the following error. One of the things I noticed is the folder name I put in when setting up the module was wrong. How the heck do I delete this thing now?! I just want it gone so I don't have to look a at the module in the module list any longer. Error: Edit Module Definitions is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not find a part of the path "C:\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\". --->

Re: Module install in other database
Here's what I did. I am not sure it's the right way, but it worked for me. add the following to web.config... add < add key="SiteSqlServer2" value="your connection string" /> under <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="your connection string" /> add connectionStringName2 ="SiteSqlServer2" under connectionStringName="SiteSqlServer2" in your add data class... Public ReadOnly Property ConnectionString2() As String Get Return _connectionString2 End Get End Property use ConnectionString2 instead

Need architecture advice for multi-page report module...
I am creating custom modules to show reports in our DNN site. In the end, I will have 50-100 reports that I want to be able to place where ever I want within the site (like I would with any other module). My question is... what's the best way to do this? To make maintenance easy, I'd like to keep all files in one project. Creating seperate projects for each seems like too much time & hassle. Is there an easy way to create one module and reference each report (ascx file) seperately when I want
