Re: Sharepoint and IIS Single Sign-On
Is your existing IIS website using forms authentication? If so, you can have SharePoint also use forms and authenticate through the querystring .

Re: problem with LDAP in sharepoint
You are probably getting an error in the Membership provider code. The problem is that SharePoint catches the errors and doesn't display it to the user. If yo have the code I would attach the debugger to SharePoint and see what is actually happening.

Re: problem with LDAP in sharepoint
To me, both web service deployment and authentication settings fall into the parent category of Hosting in IIS. However, if you are correct, and they don't fall under that category we should do a better job of moderating this forum. Ideally, the post shouldn't be approved in the first place to prevent traffic from search engines leading to an answerless post.

Re: Url Rewriting - Some advice please? :-)
Using the global.asax is a pretty straightforward way to do this. Here is an example. http://www.csharpfriends.com/Articles/getTip.aspx?articleID=215

Re: Passing xml document as parameter to stored procedure
It looks like you are passing the wrong .net type to sql. I believe what you want is SqlParameter. Here is an example. http://forums.asp.net/t/1248845.aspx

Re: Url Rewriting - Some advice please? :-)
Path is a class in the System.IO namespace so this will work System.IO.Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(strCurrentPath)
