Hi All, I've got an ASP.NET and Linq2SQL app that I'm working on that I'm having a problem with. If you have any suggestions on how to accomplish this, it would really help me out. Anyway, Here's how my app is set up: I have a Linq2SQL table named "Product". This table has a field named "ProductImage" (nullable byte[] w/ delay loaded) which is a varbinary(MAX) NULL. In my ASP.NET Page I have a FormView which is connected to a LinqDataSource which talks to my DatabaseDataContext

  • Re: Urgent Help needed with ASP.NET web application - will pay for services...

Hi Andrew, I am interested in finding out more about your needs. Could you please email your contact information to Tony.Valenti@PowerDNN.com ? Does your software have anything to do with NPI? We've already helped another company out with that. Always glad to help, Tony Valenti

  • Re: DotNetNuke installation at "Gate.com"

The easiest way to transfer a dNN site from one hosting provider to another is to make a web site backup (just a ZIP file with your DNN files in it) and to make a database sql backup (a .BAK file) and request that your hosting provider restore it. If the site's path is changing, there are also some entries that may need to be changed in the DNN database tables as well. Depending on your new host, they may charge a fee or they might not do it at all. At PowerDNN, the transfer is free, the restore

Honestly I don't know. You may want to check out PowerDNN though. They have a special going on right now where you can pretty much demo DNN for two weeks without even giving them a credit card.

You'll need to turn off the Indexer service in windows and make sure everything has the right security settings.

I'm interested in the project information. We're located here in Omaha, and if you watch the news, we've been in it a couple times lately for some cool tech work we're doing.

  • Re: DotNetNuke Enterprise Problems?

DotNetNuke has actually been very nicely designed to operate in an enterprise environment. It has features such as Web farming that allow a DNN site to be run "across" multiple web servers which really allow it to scale up. I'm not sure how big you're enterprise is, but I'm pretty sure that DotNetNuke combined with good hardware and good management will fit right in.

  • Re: DotNetNuke Enterprise Problems?

About the only "bad" thing about DNN is it takes more system resources than a flat, custom built ASP.NET portal - the reason being is that it offers sooo much more than a custom solution. Get some good hardware or have a company like PowerDNN.com take care of you and you'll be more than fin though.

  • Re: Business questions with DNN development

It really depends on the type of service you're offering and the audience you're trying to reach. I help out over at PowerDNN.com and we're a little more expensive than most other DNN hosts, however, we focus on high quality, FAST services (something very uncommon in the DNN world). We're very business friendly and our customers are willing to pay for that. Since you're new to DNN and it seems like you're wanting to make it a business pillar, I'd highly recommend you give me call (402-650-6072) or
