Re: SharePoint and MPS
I've been asking about this very topic. MS were looking to include this in HMC3.5 i.e. bring the user administation functions out of sharepoint and into MPS. However, it doesn't look like it will, and we'll have to wait until HMC4 for this - and I think that is a way off. At least MS recognise this is a desirable feature. It will just be a while before we see an included solution.

Re: can I use 1 wildcard SSL Certificate for muiltiple sites and multiple domains for Hosted Sharepoint?
I don't think you planned use of wildcard cert will work. The changing or variable part needs to be a subdomain of the static part of a wildcard cert. I.e. if your wildcard cert is for yoursharepoint.com, then you can use that for anything.yoursharepoint.com. e.g. companya.yoursharepoint.com, companyb.yoursharepoint.com etc.

Re: Small Biz - Single Server solution even possible?
There could be several answers to this question depending on your intentions. Firstly, if you are talking about MS HMC3 and whether it can be deployed on a single server, I believe the answer is no. HMC3 uses MPS for its provisioning. It is not a good idea to run MPS on a DC - getting it to work (if at all possible) requires relaxing of security. (assuming you are running Exch on a DC for your all on one system). MPS uses SQL Server, and it used to be the case that it was a big no no to run these

Re: How to trace?
Can you give a little more info on what you mean by add traces to procedures? There is a trace tool that comes with MPS. There is a toolkit in the distribution, and I seem to also remember that another version of that tool came with HMC3 (which was the one recommended to be used). This tool traces every MPS procedure that is executed down to a very low level. I will warn though that it does slow the system down hugely, so try and use a test system (although of course sometimes you have to trace on

Re: Error creating RAM Disk on IBM Blade
I would love to be able to go to the system I installed and have a look, but the trial was deemed to fit our needs and the blade centre was returned. I remember that I took the network drivers from the ibm driver cd, and put the windows 2003 drivers in the pre sys folder. Wasn't much more to it than that. I found out everything I needed in order to do the trial from the ADS doco chm file. It has pretty much everything, so I would grab that and trawl through it to find what you need. Sorry can't be

Re: Errors during deployment
MPS on AD? Never got it working even for test environment. The problems I experienced were permissions related. MS advised simply don't put MPS on AD. When I get some spare time it'd be a good challenge. But until then - I got nothing.

Re: MPS Web Services problem
Can you give us a run down on your setup config - what servers and what's on the servers. Are you running the MPS server as a AD DC?

Re: Smallest Solution for MPS 2.0 Physically Possible
OK. This posting will answer 2 things - the previous posting and an item I missed in an earlier posting in this thread. If you want to deploy on 3 servers, then the following will get you going for eval purposes. It may not be suitable for production for several reasons. Server 1 - AD, Exchange 2003 Server 2 - MPS with SQL Server 3 - PROV components (MPS front end bits), MOM, SQL for MOM (unless you want to try and use SQL on Server 2) This has worked for me in every test install I have done. The

Re: Howto modify filter rule of GAL or AL?
try using ADSIedit. But one has to ask, why are you trying to change the filter? are you running an HMC deployed as per documentation? be interested to know what you are trying to do because you shouldn't need to have to change the filter. Cheers,
