Re: I don't want to run DNN locally
I am having the same issue. I moved my local copy of my DNN from my local machines to my remote hosting company. The DNN is running just fine on my local machine but it is not on the remote server. Steps I did before FTPing to the remote host. 1. Backuped up my local MS SQL DNN database 2. Sent db backup file to Hosting company 3. Hosting compay created database on remote MS SQL server and restores my backup db. 4. I modify my web.config to point to the remote db server , remote db, and the login

Re: How to set up DNN on a remote shared server?
I am having the same issue. I have uploaded my local DNN files that are working on my local machines to a remote server. I did this by FTPing all the files under my local DNN web site. I had modified the web.config file before FTPing to make chagnes to the sql statement to point to the remote db server, remote db and put in the login for this remote db. I added a alais for the remote domain server by using the Admin Site Settings. My web.config has the following set. <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly

Re: How migrate site from localhost to web hosting company?
Nina, I am having issue migrating my DNN from my local machines to a remote server. My sent my db backup to the my Hosting company. They restored my db backup to a database on the remote SQL server. Once they setup the database then I can now used Enterprise manager to manager that remote database. I FTPed all of the DNN files from my local machine to the root directory of my domain on the remote server at the hositng company. These files were the files that got installed on my local machine when

Re: Machine keys
I guess I have the other situation. I have a DNN site running on local machine. I want it to run on a remote server. I have created an alais for my remote server under the Host user in my DNN. I modified the web.config sql statement to point to the remote MS MSQL db server, the remote db, and then the db login (uID and pwd). I then FTPed all of the DNN files from my local machine to the root directory of my domain on the remote server. When I tried to run the DNN on the remote server I get the following

Re: Cannot install Forum and Gallery modules
I got the Gallery to work but had issues with the maintenance mode. I then downloaded Stein's version and they seem to fix issues. Thank you Steins for the url like to code that seems to be working for the most part. I have a new issue now. I am getting the following message when I open the Web site in my browser and go to the page where the Gallery is installed " A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object" . If I delete the module and then readd then everything

Re: Cannot install Forum and Gallery modules
Thanks Matt, I missed the thread with Chris's comments. I followed the link you provided and make the changes to the Gallery.dnn file and it fixed my issue. Thanks again.

DNN 3.1.0 Skin
Does anyone know where I get the skin for DNN 3.1.0 that is being used on the DotNetNuke Web site, www.dotnetnuke.com . I figured it would be part of the new release but I just see the old style skin DNN skin in the software for the DNN 3.1.0. Thanks

Re: DNN 3.0.10-Clean install on XP
The issue I had here was with other things I had running on my PC. I stopped all applications like ZoneAlarms, virus protection programs, popup blockers, anti-spyware programs. After stopping such programs then the install work just fine without and issue. So these types of programs must not be running when doin the install. Once the install is complete then it is ok to turn these back on.
