  • Re: DNN portal Migration

Just the portal or the entire DNN? If you want to move the whole thing, it's just a matter of copying the database and the files. If you want to move just a portal there are utilities to help you do that at www.snowcovered.com . However, If you don't need to move the user accounts, you can possibly get away with exporting the portal from one and importing it on the other using the Portals menu under the Host Menu. Just make sure the DNN you are importing to has the same modules which are used by

  • Re: QUERY: .NETNuke vs. PHPNuke vs. CPGNuke

AFAIK. DNN only borrows part of it's name from PHPNuke. It's true source was a Open source project from Microsoft called IBuySpy. Microsoft created and released IBuySpy to increase interest in .Net. DNN allows modules to be collapsable via a little plus/minus sign in the upper right corner of each module. I only know of modules collapsing in one direction. Plus DNN has the ability for modules to default to collapsed. Themes in DNN are called skins. You can see a whole mess of them here: http://www

  • I need to find training, Anyone know a good course and company?

I have 3 expert VB6 developers who need to get into VB.Net/ASP.Net quickly. I also need to find a course local to the Baltimore/Washington area that will last about 5 days. I looked around and there are a few courses that look fine BUT I don't want a course that approaches .Net programming from a beginner standpoint. I need something that is fast paced for experienced programmers. Has anyone taken any courses from any companies that they would recommend? I was told that I can not use learning tree

  • Re: lost database

I would empty all your temp folders. I have seen temp folders with stuff that conflicts with a SQL/MSDE install.

  • Re: Announcing Free Module: HTML Head

Thanks for the great module. I didn't get a analytics account before they stopped the signups but I would have definately had a need for this. I will let you know when I do get a chance to try such a versatile module.

  • Re: how to replay the install ?

If you actually rename the DB, then adjust your connection string to match, then there should be no need to reinstall. However if you mean you are just starting over with a new DB, then the install should start on it's own.

  • Re: The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

May not solve all your problems, but try just using Server=Portable. Other options include trying the actual IP address of the machine, and if DNN app is on the same machine as the database, try 127.0.0.1 or localhost.

  • Re: how to run dotnetnuke pages

Yes, just reinstall the .net framework. If you install IIS AFTER you install the framework, then the framework doesn't work for IIS until you reinstall.
