Re: Need Help setting up
HI Todd , Here is a thread I made on Webconfig and MSDE local installation to help out some new users setup DNN it might help you out some. http://forums.websecurestores.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=20 . Are you planning to setup for a hosting company or just for your own uses you might want to check into a control panel. I have DNN running real good now using HELM. http://helm.webhostautomation.com/ You can contact me if you want more advice I would be glad to help we just finished building our servers

Re: the best host for DNN in this moment?
In helm control panel you can use domain aliases to create the host headers if the host gives you this permission and we do to all our DNN clients. For multi domain hosting this works well I recommend asking any host that offers helm control panel they can also then allow you a limit the number of aliases your allowed in their resource allowance so they should agree to host say five domains on Plan A and 10 domains on PLan B most will if you ask them this during initial install but if you make them

Re: Core Team: An idea for updating DNN core and modules
Please consider this as a major sales tool for DNN. Most end users that maintain their DNN portal will not understand the core updates or any other PA update .I don't have the time or resources to be doing updates to my clients monthly if you are releasing security patches or other important code updates it really needs to be available in the form of updates like windows updates. Maybe then all the DNN developers could submit their code recompiles to the update site as well for a central update site

Re: help with writin a proposal for using DNN for intranet portal
I am also preparing a presentation for next week. What a great topic for a thread thanks "eagertolearn" some of the things I am wondering are the list of current limitations of things like how many portals can be made child and parent also how much can the database handle for products or user enrollment say if I build a members only portal can it take 14 million members using SQL database? I guess alot of these are yet to be discovered but I am sure in time someone will have some info to

Re: Uh oh, I broke my DNN
I agree that seem like alot of data unless you have a store with 1000 items in it or you have video or files available for downloading. I have 2 complete sites that total currently 39 mb one is empty just a fresh DNN and the other one is full of modules.I am using a SQL database. I say just start over why does your host not have a SQL or MYSQL database you can use instead of Access? Just wondering I dont know if Access database works for some modules that work in DNN for example the Portal Store
