  • Re: Is DNN my best option?

This may/may not apply: I'm currently training two office assistant/clerical types to do just this because I don't want to be the webmaster of this site. What I've done achieves "...a template that rarely changes that we could just drop the content into and that's that." - for me anyhow. This is what I've done. Create a page called Templates that only a group called 'SiteAdmins' can see. Create sub-pages with descriptive Template names like: MainPage_3Pane, Main_Page_4Pane. These templates are used

  • Re: Displaying Last Modified Date

There was no source provided in the original zips. I've sent them to your email. The dll's are prefixed with OTS but there's no other branding is to be found. I just can't recall where I go these. I must have gotten them during a downloading frenzy. It seems like there was a thread about it too, because the coder had originally built the page object and someone requested a page object, which he provided. I can't find the thread though. -Neil

  • Re: Displaying Last Modified Date

I've got two skin objects for 2.x. One is for a container (gives date only for updates to content in that module, and the other is for the skin, which you could put at the bottom of the page. They work great. I wish I could give you a link or somehthing but I can't figure out who made it (it wasn't me!) I've got the zips if you want to post an email I can send them to. They may work for > 2 but probably not out of the box. -Neil

  • Re: Glitch In User Account Module DNN 3.1.1??

Well I just happened to have a new local install of 3.1.1 open so I gave this a shot following your instructions. My results were the same as yours; a blank admin page. -Neil

  • Re: Optimized VS.Net Solution for custom modules + free modules

I had been looking for the link for a couple of days too. Last night I went to the site and it was there. Not sure if a problem was fixed or if I finally just hit the right spot. The link is http://www.speerio.net/Default.aspx?tabid=334 You must be logged in. In the left pane expand Registered User Downloads > Resources for DotNetNuke. For the last couple of days I just saw the zip description and a link to the blog but now there is a license agreement and you can get the zip. Thanks so much Mr

  • Re: User-created Templates

fascinating... I've been trying to get any version of his provider all week from my pc at work. I've used links from many different sites, typed the address, etc. but always got server not found. That was at my day job; now at home i get his site with no problems. (hey... slick site!) Something to figure out Monday i guess. For now I just needed some version to start comparing to Telerik's editor for a local government site. Well i can get there now anyways.

  • Re: My 3.0.12 stopped working!

Hey what did you do to fix it? I've duplicated the fresh install procedure from a local (WinxpPro) install of 3.0.12 to Win2003. Works great locally, I get the same error on the server though. I'm trying to setup a demo site so an IT department can poke at it. If I install to a virtual directory of my current DNN install I get the error you posted. If I make a new site with a different host header I get "page cannot be found". Any help appreciated.

  • Re: user permissions for network service account?

I was just thinking what a great job Charles Nurse did with the new Installation Guide that came with th 3.0.12 download. Not sure if it applies to 3.0.11 but I'm sure it's close. Regarding the folder permission (page 4): [quote] 5. Give the ASP.NET worker process the appropriate Security access to the folders of your website. In Windows 2000/IIS5 this is the {Server}\ASPNET User Account, while in Windows 2003/IIS6 this is the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE User Account. To enable this use File Explorer

  • Re: How to use Annoucement Module

Take a look at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?tabid=442. The read more link really does only go to an internal page or external link. Your Announcement authors will need to be able to create the rest of the announcement by creating a new tab/page, which their read more link will link to (that's the file their talking about, not an actual file in your directory).
