  • Re: Firefox 2.0, DefaultButton and UpdatePanel

I only just noticed this when I put in the updatePanel. Guess I should have paid more attention :) Fixed and going good! Thanks for the tip!

  • Firefox 2.0, DefaultButton and UpdatePanel

Do not know if it is just issolated to my project or not, but when I set the form's DefaultButton when using an UpdatePanel for a portion of the page and happen to enter a textbox field with multiple lines, Firefox does not allow linefeeds, it just seem to do nothing (that I notice) when you hit Enter. Is this something common? Currently, I have removed the setting of the DefaultButton. Anyone else have a clue?

  • Re: Arranging Modules..

Thanks for the link. Yeah, something like this should be built into the core. Just too many times it could be useful! Would be great if horizontal placement could be built in to allow at least multiple modules horizontally in a pane. My orginal thoughts (some time ago) were to have a module that would add nested panes to the current pane where the module resides. I found a place in the source when it builds the pane list, where it could scan for this type of module and pull in the pane information

  • Re: Out of nowhere, DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

You might check to see that the connection string it is using is still valid and that ASP.NET (depending on server type could be Network Services) has access the database. May be that someone changed permissions. Try opening the server using the exact same connection settings as you have in your connection string, that is, if you are using a name and password (not Windows authentication), sign in using the username/password combination. Also, if you use FireFox, make sure to close "All" firefox windows

  • Arranging Modules..

    I have found a great need to have modules side-by-side in a panel such as: |.......Module 1..........................................| | Module 2 .. | Module 3 .. | Module 4 ... | |....... Module 5 ........................................| Is there a way to place all these modules in a single pane? Also, what about: where a module spans rows such as Module 3 does below: |.......Module 1..........................................| | Module 2 .. | Module 3..................... | |Moudle 4 ... | | [Module

  • People losing interest in DNN?

The forums seem to be getting slow.. Fewer posts and far fewer replies.. Many posts not even getting replies.. Is the community leaving? I wonder if the Community Server new portal features will have an effect on DNN, along with maybe the new SharePoint? For myself, I am sold on DNN and would continue even if the project died tomorrow. Just kind of looking like a ghost town around here lately. I mean days with only 8 - 10 posts seems pretty slow ;) Maybe it is just that DNN is going soooo good that

  • Re: I give up!

Yeah, I spotted that thread, but there was no resolve. Others have had the same issue in different newsgroups, but never a resolution, other than the times people happened to use "../" somewhere. This is an aggravating issue to say the least. No method I have found yet to track it out since I cannot reproduce it, although it happens 1-10 times per day (8 times for far today). I have logging in all key spots that I can find (my RewritePath, Global.aspx (logging only addded), and IHttpModule.Application_BeginRequest

I have battled a problem that just does not make any sense! • Differences?

Are there major code differences in the 3.x and the 4.x models? Can you compile the 3.x version with VS 2005 and the new Web Application Projects? I am about to build a couple modules and do not want to play the games with the managled 4.x dll names. Would like to have a normal dll name for the modules. Somewhere I read that you can run the 3.x under .NET V2.0. If that is the case, it would seem you could compile the 3.x with VS 2005.

  • Re: Will DNN 4 be recreated with the New VS 2005 Web Project Once it's Released

Yeah, I am curious about this too. Did not like the new method of building commerical modules picking out DLLs with the trailing numbers of a precompiled site. Seemed more like duct tape and bailing wire hack. Like the older method of individual projects with clean named DLLs. I head quite some time ago, these new format would be added and have waiting in the building of a few modules until it was released. Did not want to go one direction and then switch yet again. Hopefully, the 3.x can move into
