  • Re: Problem using January Futures CTP WebPartManager in Web Application Project

OK, we also have the same problem with UpdatePanel. IS NO ONE ELSE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE? Microsoft??? I get the feeling my team is the only one on the planet trying to use Web Application Projects with January Ajax Futures CTP. Designer file generation fails when we add any Ajax control to a page. Web.config is identical to the samples, references to the System.Web.Extensions.dll and Microsoft.Web.Preview.dlls are correct. Any other ideas?

  • Re: RESOLVED: install AJAX control toolkit in the toolbox

What instructions are you referring to? Can you provide a link? I looked through the site, and couldn't find anything in the installation instructions that said you explicitly needed to add the controls to the designer. I am still getting the errors: Generation of designer file failed: Unknown server tag 'asp:ScriptManager' and Generation of designer file failed: Unknown server tag 'asp:WebPartManager' on any page that contains those controls. I have Ajax 1.0 and January Futures CTP installed, and

  • Can't read connections drop down in Schema Compare using DB Pro

Hi, I am using Team Edition for Database Professionals Add on for Visual Studio Team Suite (aka DataDude). If I use Schema Compare, the drop down lists to select Source Schema and Target Schema are messed up. They are unreadable - the text for the drop down lists are shifted up and to the right so far that you only see the bottom corner of the text. I have a coworker who is experiencing the same issue, so I know its not just my local environment. Is there any fix for this bug? Thanks, Graham
  • Re: Restore and Backup Facility

We are currently using the Team Edition for Database Pros plug in for VS Team Suite, along with Web Deployment Projects and Team Build for Team Foundation Server. Do you think this new utility has a place in that kind of environment? Currently, the database project generates a SQL deployment script when we do a team build, and we can also use the database project's Schema Compare and Data Compare to sync our live databases.
  • Generation of designer file failed: Unknown server tag 'asp:WebPartManager'

Hi, I recently rebuilt an application using the new Web Application Project in Visual Studio (rather than the previous Web Site Project). I am using the January Futures CTP of Ajax and Webparts, (not to do anything with Ajax yet, just to fix drag and drop across browsers). A Web Application Project creates .designer.cs files for all of your aspx pages. I am getting a warning on pages that contain an asp:WebPartManager or asp:WebPartZone control: Warning Generation of designer file failed: Unknown

  • Re: SSL issues: portal alias doesn't maintain user login

I would like to not have the overhead of SSL the whole time the visitor is on my site. You should only encrypt pages that ask for credit card numbers or login info. I have heard of people tweaking the DNN core to let people log in to one portal and have that log in persist across other portals in the installation. What I need to do isn't even that complicated. I just want to have their login persist across a secure alias within the SAME portal. And to make it possibly even easier, the aliases are
