  I'm updating from 3.2 to 3.3... if I understand the previous comments all I have to do is back up the Db and Website files, then unzip the 3.3 version over the 3.2. Is that right? Sounds easy enough.

• SQL Job to Connect to Web Server SMTP

  I have a SQL job that automatically sends email at regular intervals. The job is running this ActiveX script to pull the data from SQL and send it via the SMTP sever on the websever. (The SQL server also has a webserver running with SMTP. We're in the process of moving sites to the new webserver) For some reason the Job is still using the SMTP server on the SQL box to process the email instead of the WebServers SMTP server. The connection string in the ActiveX script seems right... what am I missing

  I got one of my DNN 3 sites to work. Now I'm moving a DNN2.1.2. Using the same connection string to the DB, but it doesn't make the connection. The error is: The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] ) ERROR: Could not connect to database. SQL Server does not exist or access denied. Continue Where Continue goes to the upgrade.aspx page. I assume the upgrade.aspx page will alter the database. So do I have two challenges? One to make the connection

  I have numerous DNN 2.1.2 and DNN 3.+ sites that reside on one server that has both SQL and IIS. Now I'm moving the sites to a Webserver. In the web.config's connection string I've replace "Local" with the IP address of the SQL server but get the DotNetNuke Upgrade Error The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] ) ERROR: Could not connect to database.   Similar problem as well. I have orphaned processes in my SQL. The majority appear to deal with the DNN Scheduler.i.e. the property of the process is "UpdateScheduleHistory;1" I'm running multiple DNN 2.1.2. and DNN 3.1 sites, but can't tell which ones are producing the orphans. The only way to solve the problem is to restart the server. Is the problem that the process itself isn't stopping properly and disconnecting from SQL? Thanks, Stan

• IO Error writing to the exception log

  I've been through the forum and haven't found a solution to my problem. I get the "IO Error writing to the exception log" error when I restart IIS 5.0 and then go to any of our DNN 2.1.2 sites. We have mulitiple sites on one DNN system. When I click refresh the page loads fine. The log file records the following: Message : Unhandled Error: InnerException : System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at System.Web.HttpResponse.End() at DotNetNuke.Logging.XMLLoggingProvider

  I have the same issue as eggbert. I added the BDPDT module, Form Creator and Form Creator Results to a new DNN 3 site. I installed all three at once and the installation went without error. When I add Form Creator and Form Creator Results to the page I get the error: Error: A critical error has occurred. Cast from string "Admins" to type 'Double' is not valid. Any idea what the solution is?
