Re: Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request. For example, when adding controls dynamically, the controls added during a post-b
How do you add a different placeholder? Do you mean to add them in the ascx file in advance? My scenario is your first If above (ControlA.ascx being added to a placeholder, and next time ControlB.ascx being added). I need viewstate because the controls on ControlA.ascx and ControlB.ascx need it. How do add replace the placeholder? Can it be done programatically? Thanks.

Re: Cascading Dropdown doesn't call Web Service
I added the following to my ascx page (the rest of the code is above), but it doesn't make any difference. The web service is still not being called... < asp : ScriptManagerProxy id ="ScriptManagerProxy1" runat ="server"> < Services > < asp : ServiceReference Path ="CRWebService.asmx"></ asp : ServiceReference > </ Services > </ asp : ScriptManagerProxy > CRWebService.asmx is locaed in the same folder as CountryList.ascx

Re: Cascading Dropdown doesn't call Web Service
Thanks for your response; I'm not sure what the proxy is or where I'd put code for it, but here is my web service code: Imports System Imports System.Web Imports System.Collections Imports System.Collections.Generic Imports System.Collections.Specialized Imports System.Web.Services Imports System.Web.Services.Protocols Imports AjaxControlToolkit Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.SqlClient Imports UCanUse.CountryAndRegionControls.Business Imports System.Web.Script.Services <WebService

Cascading Dropdown doesn't call Web Service
If anyone can shed light on this I would sure appreciate it. I've Googled it to death with no help. I have a user control I wrote to test the AJAX Cascading Dropdowns with database access and it works fine as long as I declare the dropdown lists and cascading drop down extenders in the ascx page itself. This test consists of two dropdowns, country and region, each with their own cascading drop down extender. A web service is used to populate the lists and it all works fine. But when I take the

Re: SolPart Vertical Menu Problem
Thanks for the response. I figured out what it was; it was the flyout on submenus. Being right aligned, the flyouts still go to the right of the menu; it seems that SolPart allows for the width of the flyout and that was messing up the display. Since there is no way to specify a left-side flyout, I looked for another solution and found the free House Menu was the ticket.

SolPart Vertical Menu Problem
I have a vertically oriented SolPart Menu with simple css to change font and colors. I have it in the right pane of a fixed-width skin. The column is designated as 200 pixels wide. Each of the other two panes have specified widths as well. The table is centered in the browser. It looks fine, but when I resize the browser window either manually or by using the max/restore buttons, the words in the menu stay where they are on the screen while the rest of the page adjusts its location. This causes the

Re: how to open a new page in a new browser window in DotNetNuke?
You have to follow the convention in the Links module; look at the hyperlink control in the aspx page (right where the html is) and you will see how it happens. It calls the FormatURL method in the code behind. I found that if you just set the hyperlink control property 'target' to _blank the hyperlink will open a new window. If you want to do it from the solpart menu, that's a different issue.
