Re: can i use "Powered by ASP.NET 2.0" logo in my website
I'll just close the loop on this. Anyone is free to use the powered by ASP.NET 2.0 logos (gratis) on their ASP.NET 2.0 sites -- no restrictions, just link it back to us.

Re: RTM
This is a super-exciting release, one I've been looking forward to for a long time. Creating a set of samples that shows how the adapter architecture can truly enable anyone to control the finest details of ASP.NET 2.0 was a personal goal and doing it by making that rendering super friendly for CSS and standards based design was the clearest high-value way to do it. I think these adapters are a huge release for ASP.NET developers and I know I'll be adopting them in most of the development I do going

Re: Using ATLAS restrictions
MNF -- Answers to your questions, hopefully ;) 1) We are committed to shipping an RTM version of "Atlas" with "Orcas" -- however, we are actively investigating ways to pull that date forward. I don't have details yet, but I'm hoping to have more info in the summer time (July/August). 2) "Atlas" will be free to developers -- just like the .NET Framework and ASP.NET is free. 3) Yes -- you will be able to package up a Web Application that leverages "Atlas" and redistribute the bits as needed. hope this

Re: PersistentImage.ashx
IDisposable - because there are potentially serious security issues hidden inside. Unfortunately, that .ashx file was the reason we had to pull the kit originally. We are looking at a potential update to it.

Re: PersistentImage.ashx
IDisposable -- you are using the code from the Beta 1 (4/27) version and not Beta 1.1 (4/29) -- we have removed persistentImage.ashx from the codebase and suggest that people not use it. Please upgrade to the new beta 1.1 drop of the adapters. Thanks, Brian

Re: Very cool!
IDisposable: one point of this kit was for peopel to build even more adapters for lots of different purposes -- why don't you share the code for your <dl><dt><dd> implementation? I'm sure people would love it and then there would be more choice out there. Laurent posted about a great mod for doing selections on the menu control, there is a lot of potential to grow an amazing set of community built adapters. Just my take :) and my goal for this whole project. Thanks, Brian

Re: JavaScript warning in TreeViewAdapter.js
Thanks Mike, I've sent this over to Russ Helfand who built this and we'll investigate.

Re: Using ATLAS restrictions
Totally understand the issue. The code itself doesn't 'stop working' but the license terms you agree to abide by expire and therefore your right to use or ship the bits. Remember, this is still a CTP, and even though it has a go-live license there are certain restrictions that must be complied with. If shipping an ISV packaged product that uses "Atlas" is a requirement, then you should probably wait until "Atlas" has stabalized more and we move to RTM. This is no different then any go-live license

Re: Using ATLAS restrictions
Correct -- with the go-live license you are free to take applications into production for commerical and non-commecial purposes. One thing to be aware of is the need to keep your applications using fresh CTP drops of "Atlas." The March CTP expires on August 1st, 2006, so you'd need to make sure any customers using deployed versions of the application have an updated version with an extended license. There is no gurantee of backward compatibility either, so you should plan for there to be breaking
