  • Re: Please - Got an strange error

PKoaNui: I left it alone for a day or two and now it works fine. I didn't do anything except what I posted earlier (change portal alias and switch the friendly url setting to false). Also, question, are you in Hawaii?

I did the same thing as pkoanui and have the same result. I tried going into SQL and changing the "UseFriendlyUrls" setting to "N" but that had no effect either. PKoaNui: I can't find the issue you refered to in Gemini. The link takes me to the Gemini home page. I tried searching for 1097 but that couldn't be found.

  • Re: can't connect to dnn 3 portal after portal alias change

I was able to do something to this effect at the registrar level. Have www.landiscomputer.com forwarded to site271.webhost4life.com/mattlandis/default.aspx. My registrar (godaddy.com) also lets you "mask" the forwarded address so you can determine what shows up in the address bar. Aloha, James

  • Re: Menu not showing

No, they are running Windows XP (SP2 I believe) and I'm pretty sure they are setup as "Limited" users. If logged in as an "Administrator" level user the menu appears. I know it must be a security setting but I'm wondering exactly which one it is. Aloha, James

  • Re: DNN Module Security Question...

Two small points. You could test the PA on a local install to see what you can do with it, without being given the Source Code, if receiving the source is a problem. Separate installs of DotNetNuke get separate databases. If the user is not granted access to the database of another install they shouldn't be able to execute queries on it. Aloha, James

  • Menu not showing

Hi All, I'm pretty sure this has come up with others. I notice that on some computers the main menu doesn't show up. I'm pretty sure this is due to an internet / security setting (cookies maybe or javascript). Can someone tell me exactly what changes I need to make in order to have the menu show up. Aloha, James

  • Re: Access DP for DNN 3.0

Both DotNetPark and WebSecureStores have SQL hosting for under $10/month. DotNetPark is just $6.95. Might not be the biggest plans in the world but I think sufficient for smaller sites. Aloha, James

  • Re: Where'd the passwords go?

Thanks a lot. What happened is I couldn't get into my host account. Turns out there is now a (seems like 20) character limit on the password. What I designated was longer than 20 so when I tried to log back on it didn't match. Also the email for that account was assigned to a non-existant account (I was planning on creating it but ended up being side tracked). With the information you provided I was able to locate and update the email entry and retrieve the correct password entry from there. Thanks

  • Where'd the passwords go?

How do we get access to the user's passwords? It used to be in the Users table but I guess it is now handled by ASP.Net.
