How to determine if an Attribute actually Exists in the Active Directory Schema
I am wondering if anyone knows a way to determine if an Attribute actually exists in a schema programmically? I have a list of Property names for a User. Some of these property names match up to Active Directory attributes, while other property names match up to values in a database. Currently I loop through all property names and search Active Directory to see if I find a match. I could say a lot of time if I determined if the Property name actually existed in the Active Directory schema before

Re: Can't See My Newly Created AD User in Filter
Why don't you start a new thread for this. On a topic of this thread. I resolved this problem. I was overwriting my first user in a dropdownlist with a "Select One" message. Therefore the above code works just fine. Stuart

Storing Images in Active Directory
I am creating a directory of users for our organization. I would like to store two pictures in Active Directory if possible. I am comfortable with creating a new attribute in the Active Directory Schema. Is it possible to store pictures in Active Directory. If so how do you store the pictures and retrieve the pictures? Thank You, Stuart

Can't See My Newly Created AD User in Filter
Alright so I have been working on creating a new user in Active Directory via VB.net. I have achieved this goal. I can login with my created user, I can send email to my created user, it works great! However now I am writing code that returns all the users in Active Directory. For some reason no matter what I try my newly created user never gets returned. Can someone spot what is going wrong here? User Creation Code Public Function CreateNewUser( ByVal FirstName As String , ByVal LastName As String

Re: Trouble setting AD "mail" attribute
Well I finally got frustrated and went for a run. I came back and now all of a sudden the "mail" attribute was filled in. What I discovered was that I do not need to assign the "mail" attribute anything. If I create an exchange mailbox and wait 15-20 minutes for synchronization with the exchange server the "mail" attribute is populated automatically. HTH, Stuart

Trouble setting AD "mail" attribute
I am writing a program to create new users in our Active Directory. The program is working great however I can't seem to get the Active Directory "mail" attribute to set. I have tried a number of things which include setting the property as a multi-value property, setting the value as a single value property and setting the property as a multivalue property after the creation of the user. Nothing has worked. What is weird is that I don't get an error thrown in any of the aforementioned scenarios

Re: Writing to Custom Active Directory Attributes
I figured it out. I hadn't associated the attributes to the class. Thank You, Stuart

Writing to Custom Active Directory Attributes
I have created a number of Custom Attributes in our Active Directory Schema. A few months ago I created an attribute that is a multi-value attribute called cscRepCode. The attribute works great, I can read and write to it no problem. Recently I have created a few more single value attributes in Active Directory. I can't seem to write to these attributes whenver I try to write to the attributes I get the following error; "The requested operation did not satisfy one or more constraints associated with
