Re: DNN Core and Modules Wish List, Ideas & Suggestions
I really like Inventua's HRefExchanger. Again - this functionality has to be in the DNN core - it is too fundamental. It turns out we have to install so many modules to have a functionality wich is fundamental. I have nothing against commercial modules but if you have a bunch of installed modules, when the next version of DNN comes - the break is guaranteed. I made transitions from DNN 1 - DNN 2 - DNN 2.1.2 - 3 times. Now will have to make another one - to DNN 3. The best advice I got for the transition

Imsoccrman wrote: Good high level overview of some common needs... have you looked at the Roadmap to see how they are addressed ? Yes - but for example URL rewrite is discussed already 2 years ago and I do not see any improvement in this area in the core.

Re: DNN Core and Modules Wish List, Ideas & Suggestions
Check out http://dnn.bigbytetech.ca/rewrite.aspx for much friendlier Urls of this manner. Again - we do not need the file extension. I do not need my visitor to know my site is ASP.NET based - this is not secure.

DNN Core and Modules Wish List, Ideas & Suggestions
Now when DNN3 is out in a stable version I was thinking it is a good idea to create a new DNN Core and Modules Wish List, Ideas & Suggestions thread. I was working with DNN1, (most versions), DNN2 (all versions), now with DNN3. There are a lot of modules on Snowcovered expanding the core DNN functionality, some of them excellent some of them terrible. I personally own approximately 10 different modules and speak of first hand experience. Also I created the CSSTAB and CSSNAV module for creating

DNN2 to DNN3
I have a paying customers on my DNN2 site. Will have to upgrade to DNN3 for better functionality. I do not want the site access to be broken with the upgrade - would want to minimize the risks. What are the DNN users' experience on the upgrade?

Re: arent portal and users
I want to accomplish this: When the user is not logged in he is seeing a general accessible area: Tab1, Tab2, Tab3 etc. When he is logged in and assigned to Role1, Tab1, Tab2 and Tab3 are not seen, but another tabs related only to Role1 are seen for example Role1Tab1, Role1Tab2, Role1Tab3, etc. That way he is accessing only tabs allowed for Role1 and it appears it is on different portal but it isn't. The domain www.portal1.com where he is in remains the same but the content is different according

Re: arent portal and users
I was thinking about similar idea. For example I have premium users whith My area on the portal. There are different roles Role1, Role2, Role3. When user paid for access to Role1, Role2 or Role3 when he logs, the skin will change accordingly to Skin1, Skin2 or Skin3. My general access portal is having tabs Tab1, Tab2, Tab3, etc. When authentificated with Role1, Role2 or Role3 the user will see the Skin1, Sin2 or Skin3 but not only that - i want he do not see Tab1 and Tab2 but only Tab3 and Tab31

Re: arent portal and users
[...]The permissions will only flow by domain so www.mysite.com/site1 would carry them through. [...] So this means child portals will have this functionality?
