• Can't uninstall Preview 2 (therefore no Preview 3 for me).

  When I try and install Preview 3 it tells me that a previous version is installed. Fine, but when I uninstall Preview 2 it fails: "Micorosft Visual Studio" "Cannot find one or more components. Please reinstall the application." This happens whether I repair or unisntall Preview 2. So its stuck there. VS2008 works fine. Does anyone know if Preview 2 has other pieces that need to be uninstalled first?

  I have this same problem...anyway to load 1.x and 3.5 in the same Web Application? (I am using a single host for a number of domains instead of separate app domains.)

• Coexisting with Web.Extensions 1.x

  Any clues on how to have Web.Extensions 3.6 work on the same site (but the directory is specified as an IIS Application) as Web.Extensions 1.x? The problem is my root site uses 1.x and the configuration file(s) don't allow me to redefine the <configSection>. Anyone get this to work or do we have to convert an entire site to 1.x all at once (I had planned to put the Web.Extensions.dll assembly in the bin directory of my site (like i'd done before) but this doesn't seem to work. Perhaps

  I would like to to be able to have .NET code that runs when a user drops my control from the toolbar onto a design surface so I can interogate the project to make changes (such as adding a handler to the web.config).

• Custom Control - Modifying Project

  I have written an ASP.NET control and putting it in the toolbar works fine. The problem is that I want to be able to modify the current project when a user drag-n-drops me on a page. I need to install a handler into the web.config to make it all work. Now, I see that other controls do not do this (e.g. AJAX's UpdatePanel) so perhaps it is not possible, but I need to ask.

  I found out that when I deployed the database, the script that deployed it had copied the views as new tables. So I deleted those tables and all the stored procs and ran the installer on it. When the views as tables existed, the installer wouldn't overwrite them. Once I removed them manually I got it to work. GL!
