Re: PHP equivalent to DNN
Hmm, I've been down that road before, mainly considering a packaged offering to clients of a reliable and robust CMS with as little that can "go wrong" as possible. After trying out a few alternatives I have gone completely DNN, for many reasons. But it depends what client wants. One of mine went to Joomla for a while, and now thinks of coming back to DNN... Weird :-) But alternatives I'd look at: Joomla (formerly mambo) or Typo3 There is also e107, plone or Drupal...

Re: Who did this one? Stunning Catalook integration!!
adefwebserver: SurfBarney: http://www.sengware.com/PRODUCTS/plates/tabid/78/CategoryID/1/List/1/SortField/0/Level/a/ProductID/21/Default.aspx Definitely the nicest I have seen! The ironic thing is that so much work went into the set-up that the savings by using DotNetNuke is a lot less than the usual DotNetNuke site. Unless the owner of the site set it up themselves that site must have cost thousands to create. I agree with that - DNN should be used as an efficient way to create a site (both in time

Unhandled Error appearing too often...
I had the Unhandled Error appearing far too often lately on my DNN 3.2.2 (with about 7 portals). When I click "Refresh" the error disappears, but this is not good for anyone - no visitor would try that, especially when sometims you need to refresh twice not just once. Has anyone else had the same problem, can someone tell me what could have caused it? The full error is: Unhandled Error Error Details File Error Could not allocate space for object 'EventLog' in database 'XXXX_dnn' because the 'PRIMARY

Re: Database size - how to manage/reduce?
Well, too late for me, but it seems the database has reindexed itself... The problem is with event log in mycase, I have a site which is linked to a simple banner exchange system (phpadsnew), and this adds a lot to the event log. I am wqondering how can the event log be truncated automatically -anyone knows this..? bhattji - what do you mean by integrated services, can you explain?

Re: Database size - how to manage/reduce?
Hey, I am not sure if I am happy with this, I think you've ruined my portal... I have first tried it on my development server, it worked fine. But when I did the same on a live version the portals started to come up with the Unhandled Error message !!! Here it is: Unhandled Error Error Details File Error Could not allocate space for object 'EventLog' in database 'lubosh_dnn' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. ________________ What should I do about this? I think I should perhaps say I did not

Re: Import portal template into root portal - Possible ???
This was not possible to resolve, after some research I found the best way was to do a clean install with the new portal being setup from exported template and save in the installation base as DotNetNuke.template (replacing the default file in the distribution).

Database size - how to manage/reduce?
Hi, I have a DNN instance with about 5 portals, where the database size is growing. The transaction log file stays small. My guess is users are adding content. OK. But is there a way how to reduce the size - there is a lot of unused content in there, sometimes DNN as I noticed does not actually delete things, but keeps them in the database, just changes visibility... Is there a way to reduce the db size?

Import portal template into root portal - Possible ???
I have just got an installation of a new portal - done as root under the domain name's main hosting directory. So under Portals I just have _default and 0. The installation was meant to be from a template but the host administrator started the install without selecting the template so it just installed DotNetNuke template. Now I need to import the template into the same portal so that the domain works that way... Is this possible? The only trick I can think of is to install another child portal

Erros - Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I keep getting this error on an installation of DNN 3.2.2 After doing a LOT of searching and trying of various fixes I concluded that the best is to transfer users elsewhere and start over. However, after purchasing one of the modules to transfer users on snowcovered that module also throws that error!!! So I'M STUCK... While I have taken up this with the module developer this is not going to solve my problem - the module works elsewehere... Can I ask someone for a few steps on how to transfer my

Problem with Bulk User Manager
I'm going to post here because I think it is a common problem with custom modules, not just this one. I purchased Bulk User Manager (better not use any acronyms here :-) yesterday to move users from one DNN 3.2.2 installation to another. When I started the Export it came with an error message "Object Reference Not Set to An Instance of An Object" Does this relate to permissions on some Temporary directory under Windows on the Web Server??? My understanding is that it creates some kind of temp file
