thanks these readings should keep me occupied for a while... as for doing google search .. i did that and found stuff... but i wanted to know what people who work with webservice would suggest... (getting a second oppition..) thanks again.. i will post again once i get more sepecific questions...

working on a case study on xml webservices need some help.. :)
a little change in plan .. i will be doing a case study on the same topic ... and trying to explain how xml webservice can help enterprise level b2b communication .. and standardization of application.. thank adnaon for the list of source.. if you or any one else has some more suggestions i would be really grateful...

could use some help with a thesis
hi, i am an undergraduate student i am planning to wirte a thesis on using XML webservices and distributed application to standardize business application ... kind of discussing how they could be used to make application that would be platform independent ie run on all kinds of system mobile or client terminals using the webservices... i was looking around for reading material and though i would ask the community out there .. people who are a little more knowledgeable then me to recommend some reading

>> You need to configure the shared folders to give access to that machine, or the pertinent user from that machine (usually the ASP.NET local user, so that may not be relevant). how would i go about doing that for the shared folder... add the IUSR_<machinename> to the user lists ... or something... or should i give list permissions to everyone ...

i am already using indexing services for a comprehensive search but this one is for specific files... indexing service indexes using the content of the files and if i am not wrong not the name of the files... i just want to search by name and not by content...

i have to writen an application which is supposed to be kind of like a mini search engin .... the basic functions of the application is that the user provides the name of the file it would check if the file exists or not and if it does it would return a link to that file.... the reason for this is we have some specs kept in specific files these files are named according to the spec number ... i want the user to enter the spec number and it would go and check if the file exists in the folder and if

had any one had this error...
I am transfering the portal that i had on my development box to our server i exported all the tables and stored procedues out from the database and have imported them onto the new server updated the web.config gave ASPNET user full access to the folder and created a new virtual directory (not in this order but that are pretty much all the things i did :) ) .... when i try to access the site i get this error ... An error has occurred writing to the exception log. The permissions are not set properly
