Re: Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0 Setup Wizard ended prematurely
Glad to hear that. Yeah, the service isn't simply named "ngen" so it's kind of tricky to find. Mark

Re: Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0 Setup Wizard ended prematurely
From this error: ExecNetFx: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070422) My first guess is that the "ngen" service has been disabled. Can you try starting? Run the following cmd: "net start clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32" Thanks, Mark

Re: Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0 Setup Wizard ended prematurely
Did the setup succeed on some W2K boxes or is it always failing on your W2K machines? I'll help you dig into this a bit more. Thanks, Mark

Taking this thread offline for a sec while we try to sort this out. Once we figure it out, the resolution will be posted back to this thread. Thanks, Mark

Re: Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0 Setup Wizard ended prematurely
To specify a custom path, you should run something similar to the following: msiexec /i ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi INSTALLDIR=d:\temp\AtlasInstallDir Note the omission of the brackets around the parameters passed to msiexec. The instructions at http://ajax.asp.net/docs/InstallingASPNETAJAX.aspx are incorrect. The parameter name is " INSTALLDIR " and not " INSTALLPATH ". I'll work on getting that fixed. Thanks, Mark

Re: Ajax Extentions Setup Error....
I'm wondering if you've got a corrupted download. Can you try downloading again and re-installing? Thanks, Mark

Re: Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0 won't install, uninstall repair ect.
Let me try to help you with this. So you're trying to install RTM now, correct? Which Atlas bits were previously installed on your box? Thanks, Mark

Re: UpdateProgress
This trigger based scenario with an UpdatePanel and an UpdateProgress control is currently unsupported. We knew it was missing and we're evaluating adding support for this after the November release. Thanks, Mark

Re: Windows 2000 not supported on v1.0 Beta release?
The v1.0 Beta release is supported on Windows 2000. I see the OS is not listed on the "install docs" page so I'll get that fixed. Have you actually tried to do the install yet? Should work fine. Thanks, Mark

Re: Forms Authntication with Active Directory
The "passwordFormat" attribute is not supported by the AD MembershipProvider so the error is expected. Any chance you don't have the authentication mode set to "Forms" in your site's web.config? By default it's set to "Windows".
