Performance Considerations for DNN3
So, I've seen a few threads where folks asked why DNN version 3 is so much slower than version 2, and some others respond that there are no performance problems with version 3. I have sites running both versions on a colocated box, so I'm able to do an apples to apples comparison, and my DNN 3 sites are clearly two to three times slower than my version 2 sites. (The photo gallery module in particular is many more times slower in version 3.) I'm wondering if there any suggestions, in general, or perhaps

Re: module validation
Sigh, I still haven't solved this. Anyone have any ideas why my DotNetNuke portals would suddenly be unable to extract ZIPs? Thx,

Re: module validation
Thanks for the message. Checked that, and I've tried uploading several different PAs. After uploading from Host > Module Definitions, there are no extraction/installation messages. If I use the Module Definition Validator, I get: I nvalid File Extension For Custom Module Definition Bring2mind.MHTML_03.00.05.zip It's like DNN has forgotten how to handle ZIP files. It worked until a couple of days ago; I just can't think of what I might have changed.

Re: module validation
Hmm, I just ran into this myself. I searched the forums and couldn't find any solutions. Somehow DNN will no longer recognize/extract ZIP files. I do my own hosting and can't think of any changes I've made recently, except to IIS 6 worker process stuff. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Trends in source code availability for commercial modules
I've spent about $500 over the past 18 months on custom modules. After having been burnt on Adverageous Forums, MagicGadget, and several others that are no longer supported, I think long and hard before shelling out for any DNN modules that don't offer source code.

Ditto that. If someone is willing to take the lead on a conversion script, I'd be willing to help with the development/testing.

Re: Question regarding Forums to use?
Count me in for an upgrade module of some sort. I have a couple of sites utilizing Adverageous, so I'm all over whichever DNN 3.0-compatible forums solution offers me a migration path.

Re: Question regarding Forums to use?
Are there any forum modules for DNN 3.0 that support any level of data migration from Adverageous Forums? Unfortunately, I chose to purchase a dead-end product.
