Re: Core projects have slow releases..
bertcord: Let me be clear I AM NOT ON THE CORE TEAM. I just haven’t posted here in so long that someone forgot to take the avatar off. Yes there are problems with DNN. It is run by a bunch of volunteers so things are not as smooth as people might want. But talk is cheap….that’s great that tons of people have the time to post long posts about what they think should be done and criticize what has been done but to me TALK IS CHEAP. If you have some great idea don’t post about how great your idea is

Re: Core projects have slow releases..
bertcord: I used to be very active in DNN and I can tell you why I lost interest. It wasn’t due to slow release or bad communication or any of thee things. It was annoying people like brian_c. Over 2,000 posts and I wonder how many of them are helpful ones. Its very easy to stand on a soap box and point fingers but Brian what have you contributed other than your ridiculous posts? Well what do you know, you just proved my point there bertcode. This is excactly what I was talking about. Post like your

Re: Core projects have slow releases..
Well congrats adefwebserver, I did not know that you where on the coreteam now. Well you have proved your dedication towards Dnn well. Do not get me wrong, I understand os is a different ballgame then a regular job. And I also have had huge benefits using Dnn for several years. So I am greatfull for all the works that have been put into it. But rather then raise my voice several times, and see others do the same, without being taken seriously, I found other os framework that for now suits me jsut

Re: Core projects have slow releases..
Well here we are at the core of the problems I belive. The coreteam are rapidly answering posts that have some critics to the Dnn, or the way Dnn is managed. They seems to spare no rescources to get into a debate on Why the poster of that certain post/critic is wrong. And often way too often they just top it off by saying "This is free OS sw, if you do not like go elswere". And to me that is no way close to being serious, and that tells me a great deal about how some members of the coreteam feel

Re: Core projects have slow releases..
brian_c: I must respond. 1. The core comes out when there are complaints. Fact. 2. I have not started losing interest threads. I will be waiting for an apology. I started core projects have slow releases. That is beyond true. Delaying project releases due to 4.3 is basically saying you must upgrade and for those that are not.. we don't care you are stuck with the bugs. This is non-sense. 3. A regular complainer should be your best friend. I learned that through years working at McAfee and EDS. That

Re: [Resolved] Need Windows/MS SQL host w/VPS and Reselling w/support 4 my clients
Well you are right. That was my anger and frustration talking. I was not right to generalize like that. I did choose the host, and I am to blame. However I have been with several hosts over the years, and the point is still, many good hosts have high prices ie the host dnn uses, maximumasp. And the one I finally chose, was not that low cost after all. 150 $ a month pluss all the nickel and dime stuff. Well truth be told it was a little over 200 $ a month, with a small bandwith included. So they did

Re: [Resolved] Need Windows/MS SQL host w/VPS and Reselling w/support 4 my clients
Hmm. After a month it seems like this is a terrible solution. Several downperiods out of my control allready. Two of them for more then 5 hours. Well I will get next month for free. Well that is my least concern now. I do have other people to answer to, my clients. And a solution like this does not fit me needs. Kind of looks like you get what you pay for after all:-) I am currently looking into leasing the HW, and signing up for co-location. The problem is not the HW cost, but the MS SQL license

Should we use DNNTree? I would recomend a pure css menu without js or .hct There are a few good ones out there, take a look at With menues like this even large sites with thousands of pages will be easy to navigate. This is espacially true for the vertical menues, as horizontal can get rather ugly if you need

Re: Why does 100% Css Design Fail in Dnn? (No Tables)
Hmm. Got to get me one of those:-) Will download and start playing. Is this really possible? True css and even xhtml in Dnn? Does it take lots of tweaking? Will it be possible to update to future versions of Dnn? Will start playing. Trond.rud, you could check out nokiko's css menu, it is lightning fast and pure css. Nokiko has a bunch of css stuff for paying members, and it is just 50 euro a year. Well worth it.
