  • Re: Newsgroup access...

I noticed the exact same issue with Thunderbird and it did not ask me to enter any login information when creating the account. The problem is that if the client doesn't login, you are browsing as anonymous, and if anonymous posting isn't allowed, it'll be denied. It is up to the client to get the login information from you and send it to the server. In Thunderbird, go to Tools and select Account Settings. Then go to "Server Settings" under the NNTP account for forums.asp.net. Click the checkbox

  • Re: Cannot find solution or project file

You need the source installer. Even if the binary installer had the csproj files, it wouldn't have the source, so it is no use. The source installer still has the binaries.

  • Re: Touble Adding an Album

Well, that's your opinion. If I opened up my server to hosting, I'd be more cautious about having to allow unmanaged code than to give the ASP.NET list access on a few directories.

  • Re: File in use by another process

What version of nGallery are you on? v1.6.1 doesn't even have a picture.aspx any longer. All the image handling had been revamped. If you are on v1.5 or earlier, you should try upgrading.

  • Re: Could not find file template.picture.details.stats.html

Did you download the file from our website? I just downloaded it and there is the template.picture.details.stats.html file right there in nGalleryWeb\templates\ngalleryOrgange. Also, all of the references to [$NG_ALBUM_NAME_ENCODED$] were removing with 1.6.1. I don't know how, but people are still getting template files with that variable in there. They aren't in our source control and weren't in the distro versions I put together. It should be [$NG_ALBUM_NAME|ENCODED$]. Had you created your own

  • Re: Can't view pictures nor albums with Cassini

We haven't tried using nGallery with Cassini, so not really sure if it is compatible with it. Have you looked in the photos directory and verified that the correct photos are there. Basically, the photos directory there should be a directory called '1' that stores all of the pictures in album 1, and inside the '1' directory should be a file called '1' for the picture with an ID of 1. The file not found exception could be caused by one of those not existing.

  • Re: Rotating Pictures

We are going to be adding it, we just have a lot of other things to do as well. It is fairly simple, we just didn't know where to put the controls and what not.

  • Re: trouble modifying source code

Yes, you have to recompile the source. The admin area is a part of the whole application, so its compiled code is in ngallery.dll. You must have been doing something wrong, but not really sure what. Just open it up with the .csproj file, make sure it loads right, and recompile.

  • Re: Cannot view original image

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand what you are saying. Do you mean it doesn't put the port number in the URL? It should, since that part is built to be sensative to it. Is your album online or anything?

  • Re: DotNetNuke

No there isn't, it is more of just an internal thing. Writing software, there never really is a way of estimating the percentage of being complete. It can often times be misleading since you could easily find out how to do something that is really hard really fast, or you could take forever to figure out how to do something really small.
