Re: login control in IE with host header
Thanks very much for the reply, but I think my problem is something different. I have had my application name set to "/" from the start, and there is only one entry in the application table. I do have a little more information to report. I tested the same code on my home pc, and it worked fine. My home PC has IE 7, while my work pc has IE 6. As I mentioned before, it works fine in firefox even on my work pc. So, it seems to be something specific to IE 6 or maybe some specific security settings

login control in IE with host header
Quick description of the problem... In IE the login control is not working when I use a host header to access a site I am developing. Longer explaination... I'm playing around with the membership provider in ASP.NET 2.0. So I download the code from the "getting started" video tutorials... http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/3/4/2340602d-ed7b-48b4-a4a1-ba303a5ef296/Membership_CS.msi When I access the site as a file system site or using localhost as an http site, the login works

Re: Error -System.NotSupportedException: Specified method is not supported.
I will check out Mikes Updatable Xml DataSource control. But I'd like the answer to this question as well. I am handeling the RowUpdated event myself, but I still get the " Specified method is not supported" error. Do I maybe need to also handle the RowUpdating event as well? And what is this about ... "cancel the RowUpdate by setting the event argument's Cancel property to true". I don't see any way of manipulating event arguments. Please help us understand that better. Thanks.

TreeView SelectedNodeChanged and ShowCheckBoxes
The Control Adapter seems to break the SelecedNodeChanged event... also, the ShowCheckBoxes property. Am I missing something are these known issues?

Re: How to prevent the output dll name to change its name?
It sounds like you are using the built in "Publish Website" feature rather than Web Deployment Projects. These should help... http://www.sleekdigital.com/News/3.aspx http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2006/05/08/445742.aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/reference/infrastructure/wdp/

Re: Class Library and Web Projects - What did I forget?
I'm pretty sure sirwally just misunderstood your question. I'd like to know the solution to this problem also. For now I'm using the "obsolete" S ystem.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings , but of course I'd like to know the best wayt to do it with non obsolete code. If you have found a solution please post it.

ASP.NET Development server: directory mapping
When I try to test my web site the URL for a page in the root is... http://localhost:1183/website1/page.aspx This is a problem becuase it should be http://localhost:1183/page.aspx in order to mirror the urls on the live site. This causes reference starting with "/" not to work when testing. Is there a way to change this?
