• Re: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary

I have finally come up with a solution to this problem, quite by accident!!! I have moved to a dedicated server, away from shared hosting. Now that I have my own server I split all my sites into individual instances of DNN, with a few exceptions. Since clearing all logs and any search related tables I have not had a single recurrence of this error on any of my sites (instances of DNN). See my post here http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/37537/threadpage

  • Re: the best host for DNN in this moment?

liorlustig: If you want a pre-installed DNN, I recommend DotNetNuke-Portal.com : DotNetNuke-Portal.com is a FREE international On-Line portal builder system that lets you build a full site in a few minutes , for your private use or for your business, using more them 150 modules (Galleries, Shop, Forums, Blogs...), and with no need for any technical knowledge ( 4 easy wizard steps - try it now ! ). • Cannot use a leading .. to exit above the top directory

After upgrading from 3.2 to 4.0.3 I am finding errors in the log. Som of tha pages referenced are currently hidden which leads me to suspect the problems are as a result of a scheduled task. No user can access these pages. In each case I get a pair of errors: Page Load Exception AssemblyVersion : 04.00.03 Method : System.Web.Util.UrlPath.ReduceVirtualPath FileName : FileLineNumber : 0 FileColumnNumber : 0 PortalID : 0 PortalName : Brady & Co. UserID : -1 UserName : ActiveTabID : 53 ActiveTabName

  • Re: en-gb localization problem

It worked this time! After the resource installer failed a number of times I tried a manual upload and it worked. I have no idea why as I changed nothing else. Declan

  • Re: en-gb localization problem

John, I have unsuccessfully tried to upload your language pack. When I use the Languages > Upload Language Pack it returns to the Languages page without uploading. I then tried FTP and placed it in the install\language folder to let the resource installer do the install. I get the following errors from ResourceInstaller: TYPE : DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.InstallResources EXCEPTION : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. • Unique username???

Please correct me but I was of the opinion that the same username could be used in different portals on the one DNN instance. Looking at the db it would appear that the username is a unique key on hte users table and also the AddUser sp seems to prohibit duplication.
select @UserID = UserID from Users where Username = @Username if @UserID is null begin insert into Users ( Username,
Now I can understand not having duplicate usernames on a single portal but why not allow

  • Re: IISTracer and WebChecker

Update: WH4L were using an eval version. They are going to purchase and register! This means I will still have the benifits but no cost

  • IISTracer and WebChecker

Have any of you readers used either of these: IISTracer WebChecker At one point WH4L sent me a trace from IISTracer which helped me identify a problem on my site, not caused be me or DNN! I have been using it since to good effect. However it is drawing close to the expiry of the evaluation period. I am considering a purchase but before doing so I would appreciate comments form any that may have used these tools. Declan

  • Fast DNN

FYI After months of slow response and many many errors in the error log I have now got a site running with, what I would accept, as good response time. The main killer seems to have been the task to synchronise the file system. Once I disabled this and restarted IIS my sites are responding much faster. I have turned off the scheduled tasks for: DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.InstallResources, DOTNETNUKE DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.SynchronizeFileSystem, DOTNETNUKE DotNetNuke.Services
