  • Dotnetnuke survey

I have a simple survey online at http://feralsoftware.com/phpesp/public/survey.php?name=Dotnetnuke The survey is to obtain an estimate of the number of sites across each version. The results will be tabulated and posted for public use. My interest in the survey is to quickly gauge the PA market requirement and version support requirements across all DNN versions. Depending on the response I intend to set up some more detailed surveys on each version and the usage of the available PA's across each

  • redirect using editurl

a small problem - I have a number of control under the same definition the first is set as an view control and this calls the second control using the editurl to form the string. It all works well enought forming the url as ie Default.aspx?tabid=63&mid=424&ctl=region&StateId=NSW the region control then calls another etc etc however when the first control calls the second it displays it correctly on the right tab but uses the admin skin instead of the calling tabs skin . I need each called

when you set the Alias do not enter the http:// ie simply set it as - client_xyz.mydomain.com.

  • Re: People losing interest in DNN?

I still check out both forums but I find the DotNetNuke forum site far to slow and the number of sub forums makes a browse thro them almost impossible to fit into a reasonable time span. If the dnn forums had a system where all the latest posts where displayed in a header screen then it would make it much more easier to browse. If you want to ask a question then the DNN forum is perfect - if you just want to browse and answer a question here and there then it is far to slow unless you have very high

  • Re: Using DNN as the basis for a single application

I assume these are stand alone portals and not sub portals - if using DNN3 then use the template system you can create a template for the new page only and then update the site with that template and it should be added to the site without affecting the current pages/content, My clients only use DNN2 so I create a template on the development server using DNN3 export - I have added the import section of DNN3 to DNN2 and have it sitting in the site admin page. I upload any new templates to a template

  • Re: Can you speed up this DNN Site?

depends just how fast you want it - I am on dialup at 36k over termite infested telephone lines and the site loads almost instanteously. -link to any menu item shows no delay what so ever. Now if I could only get forums.asp.net to load that fast! nice clean site also. John

  • Re: Which version is the most stable at this time ?

I use 2.x version across all my hosting clients for the simple reason it never breaks. I did put up 3.x for a while as a sandpit for the clients to play with but the use of the help ticketing system increased 100%. So I simple now take the features I like ie the icon control panel and the wizzard and a few others from 3.x and put them into 2.x ends up with the best of both worlds and highly stable. What version you use depends on what use you are putting it to as a hoster who provides an intergrated

I have been using magicAjax in the DNN2 hosting packs for some time. Does make a difference. Very easy to intergrate it into the code. John

    >Since we are an open-source project we do not have the finances to legally take actions. So if >handling situations like this privately does not work, would it not make sense to bring these sites to >the communities attention. it has nothing to do with being an open source project - if you have a breech of trade mark then the trade mark law makes it quite clear what the action to take is. Forgetting the actual site for the moment -not all your intreprations of the trade mark law will be
