Re: Fire javascript after Ajax callback ?
For a control be compatible with UpdatePanel, it needs to call RegisterClientScriptBlock with the ScriptManager. Thanks,

Re: Can not add References in VS Team Suite ENU for Beta 1.
This is a bug - when we install, we don't add the registry entry necessary for Visual Studio to find and add the assembly to the Add References dialog. VS uses the file system to find assemblies. To see it, add the following registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\AssemblyFolders\ASP.NET AJAX 1.0.61025 and set its default value to the directory in Program Files that contains the DLL. Note: This can't include %Program Files%, and must have the physical drive letter

Re: UpdateProgress
The UpdateProgress in the Beta can't tell whether to show itself based on a trigger - it only works if the update is caused by a control that is in the same panel as the UpdateProgress. This will be fixed in the core version that goes into the next refresh. Thanks,

Re: What are the Pros and Cons with atlas?
Actually, the prefix can be anything you like, as long as it matches in pages and in web.config. You can even create your own prefix for the ASP.NET core controls. However, we will be using asp: as the convention going forward, which means that tools will generate code with this namespace, all samples will have this namespace, etc.

Re: What are the Pros and Cons with atlas?
If you are using UpdatePanel today with ASP.NET AJAX, you can easily downgrade to a non-AJAX experience by detecting the user agent and setting the EnablePartialRendering property of the UpdatePanel to false - this will revert pages back to a non-AJAX model. We are working on Opera support, and will have it in the final V1.0 release. Many of the features in ASP.NET AJAX actually work with Opera, but we haven't yet tested it to the level of being comfortable about calling it "supported"

Re: Error on adding AtlasControlToolkit.dll
It looks like you may have just downloaded in the past 3-4 hours. You got a version of the Toolkit that depends on the ASP.NET AJAX Beta, which we also just made available on the web overnight. :) Try going to http://ajax.asp.net and picking it up. Thanks,

Re: Server-Side vs Client-Side ?
There really isn't a definition of a "real" AJAX app - fundamentally, an AJAX app does asynchronous communication with the server without refreshing the entire page in a synchronous manner. UpdatePanel provides a very simple pattern for adding asynchronous updates to your web application, without requiring you to rewrite your app with a client-centric programming model. At the extreme end, an AJAX app runs its presentation tier entirely on the client, and relies on the server strictly for data. Atlas

Re: Firewall block "Atlas" but NOT "XMLHTTP" ?
That could be the case as well. A trace with a tool like Fiddler will help you know for sure, because you will be able to see the actual HTTP response that comes back from the server or proxy.
