Re: Orca March 07 CTP
I hope it makes it into Beta 1, I like the distribution model for the pre-release versions of Orcas (having had some traumatic experiences with Everett and Whidbey CTPs), and Blinq (or is that BLINQ?...although that seems a bit shouty) is an excellent antidote to the ravings of Ruby On Rails cultists

Re: Problems installing April Release
When I was having the problem it was through IE6 and Firefox, but I did finally manage to download a usable version a couple of weeks ago. So All's Well That Ends, at least for me in this case.

Re: April CTP Install Error: Corrupt Cabinet File
I finally managed to download a good version a few days ago. eyeborg: I think you may have just got lucky and it just happened to be when you'd given up saving the file first - when it was failing for me, attempting to run the install without saving it first caused it to come up with a security error (missing certificate I think from memory) - I think the person who mentioned earlier about "Unknown publisher" was onto something there: that's definitely one difference between the version that works

Re: April CTP Install Error: Corrupt Cabinet File
I appreciate that. If it helps to define the problem (and what it isn't, which is always handy to know), I've since tried to install it on a VM and my PC at work (including a fresh download), neither of which have WinFX bits or any other betas or CTPs installed, just VS2005. Exactly the same result every time.

Re: April CTP Install Error: Corrupt Cabinet File
I forgot to mention: while I've mostly been trying from IE, I did do the download once from Firefox, with the same result.

Re: April CTP Install Error: Corrupt Cabinet File
I get the same error (same cab file reference) every time I try - I've tried multiple times, I've used different speeds and I tried once from a different machine. Interestingly, the one time I tried running the install directly from the download rather than saving first it failed with an error about not having a valid certificate.

Re: Problems to install Atlas
I've been trying all morning, using different download speeds and once from a different machine. The setup fails every time. I always get this error: Error 1335. The cabinet file '_28942B4D9DE730210E7C27BD4FBAD377' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. This is expanded on the log with: MSI (s) (A0:1C) [10:15:32:163]: Product: Microsoft ASP.NET codename "Atlas" -- Error 1335

Re: Problems installing April Release
I'm having the exact same problem, and it's reporting exactly the same file name (which suggests that it's not a random event in transmission). I don't know how the download sites are organised: if it's mirrored in multiple locations, perhaps one of them is serving up a corrupt version of the file? For whatever it may be worth from a diagnostic standpoint (in relation to where download requests may be directed by default), I'm in New Zealand. It's very frustrating.

Re: Where is the Atlas download?
I've been following download links around and around in circles...the new pages are up in all their prettiness, but there is no link to the actual download.

Atlas: works with RTM or not?
I have to admit to getting um, mixed signals from the web site on this one. On the one hand there's a notice saying the bits only work with Beta 2 which is prominently displayed in red next to the links for the downloads, but then on the other hand, when you actually follow those links there are separate downloads for Beta 2 and RTM. So which is true? On a somewhat related note: If I successfully install the project templates, will it be possible to update them with later versions of those templates
