  • Re: Build your own portal or using open source?

Ok - this is an interesting post to which I perhaps can share some light and experiences in using the DotNetNuke framework solely for myself and clients over the last three years. Although I use it, I am also an advocate of 'solutions' .... and shock horror I actually run our mail server on a Linux box, because it suits our requirements, so although involved with DotNetNuke, also am aware of other CMS products around. You mention you have a 'manufacturing' company and the concept of having something

  • Nina's 2 New Free Skins using DNN Menu - for DNN 3.3 & 4.3

Happy to release these two free skins - XDNNLight - Blue & Gray. Based on the original DotNetNuke 3 skins I designed, I thought it was time to freshen them up with slightly softer colours, smaller navigation and less whitespace. They are only suitable for the dnn 3.3 & 4.3 builds since the CSS files and code within the ASCX file has the references to create the menu, which I've tested in Firefox, Opera & IE. Each Skin set has 2 skins, horizontal menu only at this stage, the vertical is

  • Re: Who did this one? Stunning Catalook integration!!

Nice sites we're seeing and I've been working on this one for a while - http://www.stationersonline.com.au - The interesting thing is once my client understood how to manage and sort and restructure the categories, it's been easier for me to make work in the style I wanted it too. I still have some work to do on it, but you get the idea. Our next step is to add the colours and options for the pens and markers and such, but still ensuring it's going to be managable by spreadsheet. Current projects

  • Re: Free Module - Amazon Related Products

Thanks for this - I was using the iFrames module and it was very cumbersome - and now I can have it nicely displayed and integrated on a website. Regards Nina Meiers

  • Re: I'm willing to pay to make this happen...

Are you looking for someone who is registered and logged in on one site - have access to registered user informaiton on a totally different dnn portal/code base? That exists already - http://www.inventua.com - I use their module to connect users from one site to another - you need a target/source setup but it's worked well for me. • Re: Child Portal Limitation

I know of someone who's got about 5,000 child portals - I 'm not sure if he's running on 3.2.2 thought. Nina Meiers

  • Re: No Communications from DotNetNuke... where to get the software?

GoPC - I would say you're one of the lucky ones - Like ME - (core team member) who's mail server has blocked mail from maximum asp - it's been very frustrating for alot of people who are in the same situation of not getting email - It happens periodically - but I'm still trying to work out which email addres to use. It happens from time to time.. and I know even with my own mail server for my clients - and it's EXTREMELY frustrating. But you've got a link now so you should be set. Nina Meiers

  • Re: Who did this one? Stunning Catalook integration!!

That really is an outstanding shopping cart -just shows how diverse Catalook is when you have the time to learn it.. Another big plus with that site is the fantastic photos of the products.. which in my opinion is one of the hardest areas to get.. This is an excellent combination. .. No I didn't do it - but if there's someone out there who has a BIG product list, and LOTS OF GOOD PHOTOS, I'd be happy to do something as a feature.. It's just so hard to find those organised clients to build a site

  • Re: BDPDT Security Alert

I also suggest you test the install locally -since the patch broke the module, so I'm deleting the forms module I was using. Nina Meiers

  • Re: New Free Skin - XDFuseMe

Thanks for that. I've got a few more coming up, but was experimenting with a few new ideas. I just really like DNN and hopefully the next lot of free skins I've got coming out might help others decide that DotNetNuke is simply too good to pass for other *cough cough*.. other... frameworks.. are there any? :-D I love this application, and just want to share with others.
