Re: How to resolve "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException" issue
Nope. I decide to just roll over and play dead. Any server that Ajax doesn't work right, I just turn it off. Someday somewhere someone smarter than I will solve this. Good luck...sorry I couldn't be more help.

Re: Is RegisterStartupScript malicious code?
I don't think it's the syntax of the code since it works from a browser on the server. If the method was flawed it wouldn't work anywhere.

Re: Is RegisterStartupScript malicious code?
Yeah I've tried it with the fale...I've tried it with true and without the <scipt> stuff. I've tried every variation I could find googling. I even tried an alternate method of using a asp:Literal in the header and writing the script to it. All with the same result. It's got to be environmental. I just don't know how to pinpoint it. I've tried IE v6 & 7 and FF v3

Re: Is RegisterStartupScript malicious code?
Eric, It doesn't matter what code I try to insert via RegisterStartupScript. I'm currently testing with script as simple as: strJS &= "<script type=""text/javascript"">" strJS &= "alert('" & err & "');" strJS &= "</script>" If Not ClientScript.IsStartupScriptRegistered("err") Then ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "err", strJS) End If

Re: Is RegisterStartupScript malicious code?
Clarence, I've tried it with IE, Firefox, and Chrome. They all produce a very non descript general error page.

Re: Is RegisterStartupScript malicious code?
I gave all of those you mentioned admin and full rights, rebooted the server and no change. I even took off anonymous access and logged in as an admin account, and got the same result.

Re: Is RegisterStartupScript malicious code?
I agree, I've been leaning toward IIS being the culprit as well. I've gone through most of the settings as best as I know how, and I've set the security wide open to eliminate that as the culprit. The web server is a 2003 Web Edition with all of the available updates and service packs installed. I just don't know what else to check?

Is RegisterStartupScript malicious code?
I have a situation that's driving me insane, and it revolves around RegisterStartupScript. I think my web server is interpreting RegisterStartupScript as malicious code. Whenever I execute a ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript statement I get the generic error page "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" which of course tells me nothing. The syntax is not the issue, because the code will work if I try it from a browser on the web server. It fails from other machines. I need a

Deploying multiple web services via one setup project.
The title pretty much explains my situation. I have like 5 web services the are common to a couple of other client web apps. I'd rather not have to create a 'setup and deployment' project for each of them. I've done this in the past by using Wise setup and having each web service be a separate feature, but Wise is just so overkill. I was hoping there was something much simpler? Thanks Steve
