I wasn't meaning I am taking for nothing and not giving anything back. If I had the time, I'd learn to program .NET and write my own to give out to the community. I just can't afford to spend the money on something when I am in debt for other things. For a developer/designer/consultant, it's understandable. But from a hobbyist point of view, it doesn't

    I don't buy modules. I can't afford them.

Hereby I nominate rafim to be promoted into the core team. With this tremendous success and his prospective role as a gatekeeper between .NET and Java, DNN and Mono, I cannot fathom all the benefits which could arise from this collaboration. Agreed. Although I don't want to step on anyone's toes or anything - specifically the core team - being able to cross-platform a great PM solution like DNN would be astounding. As stated previously, very large companies (such as my employer) tend to stay away

  • Re: Why I am not happy with DNN 3.X

I noticed my host does the same thing when I attempt to connect up to SQL using WebMatrix. I can see all DBs on the Database list, but can't access of course. But it sure does take a long time to bring up that list.

  • Re: DotNetNuke on Linux

I am very much interested in this, considering that I work for a VERY large company (cough *GE* cough) and their IT doe not want to accept anything other than Java & Sun. (very anti-open-source/MS/etc) I've been trying to get DNN accepted for an intranet portal, but maybe this would sway them...

  • Re: Thoughts on the state of non-free modules

Just a thought from a "non-developer"... (there may be many more like me) I have one, non-profit DNN website. I fund the website out of my own pocket (hosting and all). Occasionally, I get a few bucks donations here and there. I don't have enough funds to pay more than $10-15/month for hosting. (got 2 kids, a wife, student loans, debts and buying a house) I respect the fact that developers like to charge for their work. That's fine. However, I view this as open source, and it is very difficult to
