Andy - Here's a few additional things: When creating the SQLDatabase, in EnterpriseManager: - I make a database user for my site (say, "dnnDBAdmin") - I add that user to the new database as database owner; THat user, and the password I set for that use in EnterpriseManager then gets used in the "uid" and "password" fields of the ConnectionString. On another note, you also need to set full permissions on your DNN installation directory to a system user (which depends

There is a Readme.txt file in the .\Documentation folder of your DotNetNuke installation that you might want to look at. Regards, Yarko

  • Re: Does anyone have the project files for the final DNN 1.x version

Hi - http://www.dotnetnuke.com usually has the last several releases on it. I see 1.0.10e no longer appears, but I still had the archive on a web site. I've restored the link so you can get it from http://dnnbook.thynken.net/default.aspx/UsersGuide.PatchesAndUpdates (a page that is itself no longer current). Hope that helps you out. Regards, Yarko Ah - I see Bruce posted while I was restoring my link! You have 2 ways to go now!

  • Re: SQL db installation problem

Hi Mike - The modules on DotNetNuke are called "Private Assemblies" - or PA; you can search for that on the forum. As I recall (and it's been a while since I looked around) there are two popular starting places: Here's a little start: See Post 450682; http://www.dotnetnuke.dk Perhaps others can add their suggestions. As for "customizing" by using existing PA's - I've always liked this as a good starting point: http://cathal.europe.webmatrixhosting.net/ (look under DotNetNuke)

  • Re: Can't upload skin

Check your skin "zip" file - many skin packages come with a skin and a container install, all conveniently packaged in one download file (for you), which contain 2 upload files (for installation on DotNetNuke). If you see zip files inside the zip you are trying to install, chances are you need to unwrap it one level, and install the zip files it contains. Hope that helps. Regards, Yarko.

  • Re: SQL db installation problem

Hi there. For SQL initialization scripts, have a look in your installation directory: ./Providers/DataProviders/SqlDataProvider at the *.SqlDataProvider scripts. The way this works: Determines your current DotNetNuke version; runs upgrade scripts in sequence to the current version (upgrades your database); The version scripts are named by version number. This decays to starting with version 1.00 (01.00.00.SqlDataProvider) in the case where you have NO database (upgrade from nothing!). The other area

  • Re: DotNetNuke 2.x UML class diagram

Good point, Joe - If UML / modeling is not in the existing knowledge set, it's a mouth-full to add, and takes time (rushing models leads to dissapointments, failures). ---- As for a high level diagram, the source tree, top directory provides the most basic and useful organizational views of DNN: Admin - and it's subforlder names tell a useful organizing story - aspects of administering a "site"; Componenets (system components); DesktopModules - the extensible "business rule" stuff
