Re: VPS Performance Hyper-V vs Virtuozzo
Hi ultimahosts.com , No offence and nothing personal, I did not use your service. But Virtuozzo has its drawbacks and allows hosting providers to cheat. For example, lots of Windows hosters state that they provide "burstable RAM" like "VPS with 256 MB RAM, burstable to 1024 MB", it is a scam! Windows does not allow to burst RAM without the server reboot. Windows Virtuozzo hosters take this from Linux world, but it does not work on Windows. It is just one example. Virtuozzo came

Re: VPS Performance Hyper-V vs Virtuozzo
There should be a law against Virtuozzo Go with Hyper-V or Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 (yes, it it still actual and great, my VDS's at Dotnetpark hosting are running just fine), or VMWare (it is expensive, but great too). Avoid Virtuozzo, it is not just my opinion.

Re: Need To New Hosting Provider - UltimaHost has deleted my website
... as per our TOS we don't make backups as we prefer our clients to manage that themselves.
Really? Please explain why do you write this in your signature: "Windows 2008 Reseller, Windows 2008 VPS, Dotnetpanel Hosting, R1Soft NAS Backups , ..."?

Re: Need To New Hosting Provider - UltimaHost has deleted my website
Move to dotnetpark . They are solid and friendly. Never frustrated me and my clients. And they have 7 to 10 daily backup copies of all sites. Even if you will remove your site yourself they can recover it - and I checked it myself, it is not just a marketing fluff.

Re: What asp.net host do you use? Why did you choose them?
Jeff, thanks, yes I asked about OrcsWeb. I do understand your point, but I found another way: I rent virtual dedicated servers now. Some of my clients continue to use shared hosting accounts, but I recommend them to move to VDS too. With VDS you are a God, ok "a god" :)

Re: Web Hosting for Asp.Net 2.0 with SQL server 2005
DotNetPark fits your needs. It is a solid, reliable hosting with an awesome support team. Not the cheapest though , but not overpriced.

Re: How to set database on host?
Decent hosts like Dotnetpark have control panels allowing you to upload your database backup and restore it on the hosting server. It is for shared hosting. If you have a VDS like me you can upload and restore it without any control panel.

Re: Looking for an asp .net / mssql server host
www.dotnetpark.com provides an excellent service for both shared hosting and VDS/VPS and they provide Windows only hosting. Moreover, DotNetPanel control panel has been developed by their team.
