Re: Database size - how to manage/reduce?
dont run DBCC SHRINKDATABASE unless you plan on reindexing your tables afterwards. If you dont your performance will suffer.

Using AfterBuild Target to process files....
I would like to use the AfterBuild target to perform some tasks after building my Web Deployment Project. I am attempting to create my own ItemGroups but I am seeing some weird behavior. I have created a sample project that shows my issue. You can download it here www.corderman.com/data/samplewap.zip In this sample project I create an Item group as follows. <ItemGroup> <ModuleDeployFiles Include="*.*" Exclude="*.zip" /> </ItemGroup> For some reason having this ItemGroup in my project

Re: Database issues slow performance
you shodul do one of two things 1. Change the recover model of your db to simple.[ 2. Implement TLOG backups on a scheduled bases Since the database is so small I would schedule regular FullBackups.

Re: Core projects have slow releases..
It could be run better, but I think its run great for a group of all volunteers. Maybe if more people joined the benefactor program more money would be available to hire dedicated resources. You have heard of the benefactor program haven’t you? I don’t care what anyone says but when people are doing work for FREE they will work on what they want to work on. Sure SSL has been promised for some time but if the people doing the coding don’t need it I bet it will take much longer. Now I have an idea

Re: Core projects have slow releases..
Let me be clear I AM NOT ON THE CORE TEAM. I just haven’t posted here in so long that someone forgot to take the avatar off. Yes there are problems with DNN. It is run by a bunch of volunteers so things are not as smooth as people might want. But talk is cheap….that’s great that tons of people have the time to post long posts about what they think should be done and criticize what has been done but to me TALK IS CHEAP. If you have some great idea don’t post about how great your idea is. Write some

Re: Core projects have slow releases..
I used to be very active in DNN and I can tell you why I lost interest. It wasn’t due to slow release or bad communication or any of thee things. It was annoying people like brian_c. Over 2,000 posts and I wonder how many of them are helpful ones. Its very easy to stand on a soap box and point fingers but Brian what have you contributed other than your ridiculous posts?

Re: Web Deployment Project - "aspnet_merge.exe" exited with code 1
I find the controls that are casuing the problem…. There are two places that cause aspnet_merge.exe to fail. It appears when multiple ascx controls use the same CodeFile it causes the error. To be honest I am not sure why this exists…I am thinking that it is for backwards compatibility with older skins. Is it not possible for multiple ascx controls to use the same code file? Here is the control directive for the two controls in question if you are interested admin\Containers\solpartactions.ascx <
