Happy to release these two free skins - XDNNLight - Blue & Gray.
Based on the original DotNetNuke 3 skins I designed, I thought it was time to freshen them up with slightly softer colours, smaller navigation and less whitespace.

They are only suitable for the dnn 3.3 & 4.3 builds since the CSS files and code within the ASCX file has the references to create the menu, which I've tested in Firefox, Opera & IE.

Each Skin set has 2 skins, horizontal menu only at this stage, the vertical is a little more work, but it's fixed and wide skins, and 4 containers each to use.

I think it adds a new softer dimension to the default installations.

Suitable for DOTNETNUKE 3.3+ & 4.3+ INSTALLATIONS. WILL NOT WORK ON EARLIER VERSIONS.
If requested I can recode to earlier version with different menu.

The following is a list of new H2O Forms uploaded to the Repository on www.OnyakTech.com. Additional details and instructions on using the forms are available in the form details after you upload them to H2O in your DNN site.

Using Parameters in SQL Statement Enabled Controls in H2O 3.x: A Sample H2O Form that displays the current users Call History from SigmaLive. The purpose of this form is to demonstrate the use of parameters in controls that accept SQL Statements.
File Upload Control Sample for H2O 3.x: Sample H2O Form that uses a File Upload control. Note that H2O also allows users to attach files to items in the tab control. The purpose of this File Upload control is to be used when you are using an H2O Form in a module configuration where only the Form is displayed.
Display Files attached to Items in SigmaPro Draconis with H2O 3.x: This sample H2O form uses a data grid to display information on another module in your DNN Site. In this form, we display a list of all files attached to items in SigmaPro and list the Project Name, Item Name, File Name and File Size.
Auto-Insert User Details in H2O 3.x: Sample H2O Form to show how to have H2O auto-insert values from DNN about the current user filling out the form. This type of use was added to H2O allow you to connect user information with other tables in your tables. For example, if you have a CRM system and the customer posts a meeting request using an H2O Form, H2O can auto-insert user information so that your reports, emails, etc. are correctly joined with other user information in your system.
User Registration Form for H2O 3.x: This form is be used when you want to allow unregistered users the ability to register an account on your site with H2O and/or to allow registered users to update their account through H2O. Details on the configuration is in the Forms Description.

I have a user control is here ,which iam using in DotNetNuke, I am loading some controls dynamically on it(TextBox).But i am facing a problem that after loading controls to page ,when i enter some values i cannot access it. Controls are dynamicaly generated . when i debugged I can access controls id, But controls Value is not there, I think the view state is missing.But i tried with view statethan alos value cannot be accessed.Can any one help me to sortout this issue.

MySql DataProvider for DNN 4?

I'm writing a website based on DNN 4 and I really love the way you can switch the DataProvider through web.config to use an entirely different set of classes to interact with a different database altogether. I think it's a great example of the kind of separation we should always aim for between business logic and data layer.

I am also just starting my own business and one thing that I see as an obstacle as using DotNetNuke as the foundation for websites I build for clients is the dependancy on MS-SQL. Most hosting companies charge a lot of money for MS-SQL support because SQL 2000 itself is so expensive. Since MySQL is free to install and consequently free or cheap from most hosting companies, it makes sense to have a MySQL DataProvider for DotNetNuke.

Is anyone in the process of developing such a thing? If so, do you need any help? I would be interested in working on such a project but it wouldn't make much sense if several independent groups were all doing the same thing. It'd be quicker to get as many people as possible working on one combined project.

Of course, if you're doing it with a view to selling it then I can see why you'd want to keep the development work to yourself. I was hoping we could muster enough people who would be interested in making a MySQL DataProvider as a contribution to the DotNetNuke community. Not having any idea on how much work it would be, this might be somewhat naïve of me.

Please let me know your thoughts if this idea interests you.

DNN Custom Module - Content Management with Workflow.

Hi,

I spent the entire day yesterday looking for a comprehensive content management solution with article workflow. The short version is that I was not successful in my search. My question is if anyone has a system that they are happy with / willing to sell (with source)?

I really like ContentManager 3.0 DNN 4.0 by invenmanager.com, however this is only a single module/article editing solution. Ideally, I would like to combine the ContentManager workflow style with DNNMasters Content Builder (http://www.dnnmasters.com/ProductsandServices/DNNModules/DNN3x4x/DNNMastersContentBuilderLite/tabid/115/Default.aspx)

If I were to hire someone to combine the two, how much would I need to look to spend?

I’ve also always stored a private list of useful links and interesting reading, so I thought I would share them on the DotNetNuke Directory (appropriate as it’s good for info finding).

Any other common questions or good links? There’s some really good info tucked away on the old Forums that makes for excellent reading (who remembers the heated debate that lead to the birth of the DNN trademarks?)

An alternative to the core Text/HTML module that functions like it, but also allow tags to be placed in the text that will be replaced with data from several sources.

1. A selection set from a database
2. Logged in user profile
3. Portal information
4. Querystring parameters
5. User host information

For HTML savvy DotNetNuke implementers who want simple data access.

You provide an optional connection string and SQL statement that returns a recordset where the first column is tags and the second values to replace those tags at display time. The SQL statement can include system tags (2-5 above) that will be replaced with corresponding values before sending the request to the database. See settings example

You can place the tags anywhere in the HTML and they will be replaced with data from the database or system values. See Edit Text samples.

The HTML generated by replacing the tags with values from the dataset and system is cached in a custom table in the DotNetNuke Database. A setting is provided to define the number of minutes that must pass before the database is re-queried and the tags are replaced with the values and the modules output is regenerated. This will reduce calls to the database on data that doesn't change often.

What's New Module from Efficion (free)

Today I'm making available an early Beta version of a What's New (aka Whats New) module for DotNetNuke 3. It displays the latest items added to your portal.

This module is an extremely simple module right now that utilizes the Search implementation in DNN3 and thus will only work for items in modules that have implemented the new Search functionality.

Currently, there are no settings, it will just display the 5 newest items. Eventually, I hope to add features to make it more flexible and powerful. I encourage others to grab the source and send me modifications as I've been very busy lately. I'll make sure any contributors get proper credit.

Please provide feedback, suggestions, and bugs in this thread.

It's a simple module that allows you to perform a database backup, compress it and download it.
IMPORTANT NOTE: this module works when the database and the web server hosting the portal is the same.

English and Spanish resource files are included.
The module is automatically added to the Host menu ("DNN Backup" option).

Hi, I was just wondering if there is a tracking module for Pay Per Click. This would be very helpful, we use google adwords and yahoo's overture. This would be very helpful to see what ppc keywords they are using to get to your site, and where they go. We do have a few great tracking modules that let you know what keywords were being searched for in google / yahoo to get to your site, but it isn't for pay per click. Thank you in advance for your help!

Problem w special chars in newsletter - solution

I have struggled from day 1 when sending newsletters from my dnn-site. The problem is that special characters like æ ø and å (we use them in Norway) doesn't show in the emails that is sent.

So, I decided to make a little program to extract the emails from the dotnetnuke site, and save them as a text file. Then i can use another massmailer program to send emails.

If anybody else has this program, or by some other reason wants to use another program to send newsletters, you can find the program here, it's free of charge.
