Hi I was installing Dotnet Nuke .... during installation I got the following error:

Can anybody help me ? What should I do? Is there any problem with parameters declaration from my side? Should I remove installation and then install dotnet nuke ? And how to remove installation if this is the only solution?

I have a DNN 4.3.5 website. I recently created 5 new pages and assigned them a new skin (lets call skinA). Within the 5 new pages, I added some custom modules. They seem to work fine. The custom modules had a hyper-link and this points to __doPostBack('dnn$ctr724$IssueList$lnkReport','') When a user clicks on that link, it takes them to another custom module, but this time (on the custom module) skinA is not applied but the default skin (which is set under admin site settings) is applied. My first question is, even though the DNN page has skinA, why would clicking on a link within that DNN page take you to another control which has the default skin applied and not skinA. My second question, is it possible to apply skinA to the user control that shows up when you click on the hyperlink within the DNN page? Can someone show me some code examples? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I don't know much about ASP servers and everything ...

I must do a project on CMS "DotnetNuke". I installed MS SQL Server, IIS, then ASP.NET framework on a pc.

I've put DotNetNuke on a virtual host, which I access going :

localhost/capitale

"localhost" resolves as the homepage of my server, that's allright.

But my virtualhost to my dotnetnuke folder gives me this error :

Access to the path 'C:/Documents and Settings/capitale/Install/UnderConstruction.htm' is denied

I know that's a problem about not the right user for this virtual host or something like that, but I have no idea what I can do. Please help me , it would be very appreciated. ;)

Hello guys,

I'm looking seriously toward DNN for a base for my web-based project, but I'm not sure whether DNN can deliver exactly what I need.

So, basically, I want to create a kind of software where users (representatives) can manage their contacts, tasks, activities, business, and so on.. In addition to that, each user is automatically an affiliate and can promote the software to get paid for that.

I'm wondering, right now, if it's a good idea to spend some time looking into DNN? Is it relatively easy to build custom modules with DNN, as easy as I can make some user controls in ASP.NET and put in some RadGrid (Telerik's Datagrid) to show the sales for each user currently log in, for example?

Before looking in DNN, I invested some time with Telerik's controls and I plan to use them in my web application. That's another question, how easily can I integrate Telelik's controls with DNN?

If I choose to take the non-DNN direction, I will have to develop all the solution by myself (membership, roles, security, etc.).

DotNetNuke: How to view user control Module by giving control Key in module definition

I'm not viewing the usercontrol page when I'm giving Control key name in the module definition. but its shows if not giving control key name.

I want to navigate from one user control page to another page module..I've written the coding as shown in below..

Its showing blank page when I'm executed...

Problems with dotnetnuke

Our main server has dotnetnuke installed on it as a tool/framework for the main website that was built by a consultant. I am totally unfamiliar with it and our administrators are only slightly familiar. The server box also hosts several other applications that we are in the process of developing in house. The smaller applications are built with NET or plain ASP and have nothing to do with dotnetnuke.

Occassionally, one of the smaller NET applications will fail with an error message that suggests the server cannot load something called for in the dotnetnuke web.config file. This suggests the dotnetnuke web.config and the application's web.config are somehow being chained together even though the smaller app does not use dotnetnuke. Is this proper behavior and is there a means to avoid the problem? It seems the only way to fix it when it crashes is to reboot IIs.

hey

i am using Dnn 4.9 and i make a page name category and in that category i am displayin the list of mobile brands and when any user click any mobile brand it display all the mobiles in that brand in another page and when user click any mobile it display its detail in another pager

mobiles brand(category) => mobiles page(mobiles) =>mobile detail (mobiledetail)

Part 1:

now when i run my program and when i click my category page it display this url

http://localhost/dnn/Category/tabid/59/Default.aspx

but i only want it to be

http://localhost/dnn/Category.aspx

when i search the net i found a soultion that if i use urlformat="HumanFriendly" in webconfig i get the human friendly urls and i get this url

http://localhost/dnn/Category.aspx

part 2:

but when i click any brand in the category of mobile brand page i get this url

http://localhost/dnn/Category/mobiles/tabid/60/id/2/Default.aspx

but i want that i get this url

http://localhost/dnn/mobiles.aspx or http://localhost/dnn/mobiles/2.aspx somthin like that

when i search i find that if i can rewrite the url with the help of siteUrls.config

and they give many example like

i tried that but i do not work , am i doing somthing wrong , also how can i make this work for part 1 and part 2

and if any one select any mobile from that brand page lets suppose mobile with id =48 then url become

Print button blues

Ok, this is the problem I'm having:

I wrote a dot net nuke module. This module stands in a typical, default, container, that sports a little print icon at the bottom. By clicking on the print icon, the module itself loads in a separate page and then I can print it.

The problem that I have is that when I do that, the instance of the module that gets printed is the default one (when the page is loaded) and not, by any means, the one I want printed.

I wrote a student report module, with which you select a student from a pulldown list and a complete report is displayed afterwards. It makes no sense to have the module being printed with only the pulldown there.

I've heard you can somehow tweek the cache or some other info regarding the print button.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

I had a Problem in DNN while running in Safari.After selecting "Product Category" in the above image, ProductSubCategory Menu is shifting left hand side only in safari.
But it works properly in Firefox,IE.Can any one give me a suggestion to solve this problem.

We are in the process of evaluating DNN as a enterprise-class web framework for building non-CMS based applications. Since we already built a solid framework leveraging the .NET 3.5 Framework is it worth pursuing? The framework already provides a UX (using Master Pages, User Controls and Themes), User Management, Account Management, etc. We use a n-tier archtecture incorporating Datasets, Namespaces, User Controls, etc.
