There are a lot of os 9 out there. most design to print outfits dont need to go beyond that as their photoshop, illustrator and QuarkXpress happily work in that OS. so why invest more more on software.

hmm, os 9 .... there are not many css capable browsers for that ... does anyone know of how many os9 users there are left in the world ...?

Actually it currently has OS9 something but I have a new (as in never been used) and legal copy of OSX Panther 10.3 I can send along. I use a standard VGA type monitor on these as well as a Microsoft keyboard and a real mouse..haha (the kind with 2 buttons)!

hmm, you could still accept it Jon, a G4 comes with 10.2 (panther) or 10.3 (jaguar), and those systems are still widely used .... i dont know if apple updated safari for 10.4 ....

you can plug pc monitors into macs for a couple of years now... from g3 and up without converter even .... if you'd ever lay your hands on a g3 or g4, open it op when you have the chance ... lots of pc parts, and yet they are put together like no pc builder can

Wow, Talguran, that is a nice offer, one which I'd accept if I hadn't already been donated a MacMini. I am not sure if others on the core could use it. Dumb question. Does it require a Mac moniter? One thing that is crossing my mind right now is browser compatibility. Meaning what OSs come with which browsers. Are there earlier versions of safari that I will need to test? if so how is the best way to do it? I am still thinking about the whole PearPC emulator... especially for those earlier OS versions... so if I run into trouble with earlier versions of Safari, maybe I could just ask you to donate the OS. Just a thought... but for now I will have my hands full trying to get my code Mac friendly.

don't worry, no offence taken. Believe me, I was just concerned that it would look bad that we were asking for donations, but I think you, and all the others who donated, can be proud that you stepped up so quickly to contribute back to DotNetNuke. I've no doubt this will benefit us all (except Jon who'll probably get even less sleep as he plays with his new toy). The community owes you all a vote of thanks. Give yourselves all a pat on the back from me.

I realized this. I wanted to make sure we reached the goal for the MacMini before I accepted any payments. Didn't want people to be donating to something that didn't materialize

Thanks for pointing this out though, as I said before I did not have much experience with PayPal.

Yes I see the effects of Logos, you are right. Im going to see if i can put one that promotes my immature behaivior. Yes its nice sometimes to be decoupled from P.C. posting.

when you get the big logo below your name you're supposed to act in a mature, grown-up way, which goes contrary to my infantile sense of humour, so I usually try to start a post with a note that it's from me and doesn't necessarily represent coreteam views when I'm about to rant. As this was a more measured post, i missed it out, so didn't want to misrepresent the intent.

I miss the old days when I can sling random abuse, and pester Shaun about when the next release was due and get away with it.
