Options are categories to hold values. Like if you were selling a sweater you might have two POC's (product option categories) like Size and Color. To get dropdowns, for each you need to create POI's (product option items), like S M L XL XXL for Size.

I was wondering if someone could explain in more detail the correct way to use the product options. I added 3 product options, but i do not get the drop down list. It just displays all 3 options.

Is it possible to setup multiple fixed billing options?
ie - for say regular and exporess?

Really like the province/state specifc tax feature.

Now on to some real comments / suggestions.

This shows even when there are no options on the product:
Option Selection Extra Charge

This is before I make the payment, why is balance zero? That is what will be due after the payment... if so, that is confusing. I also have not looked yet, but it says AuthorizeNET credit card, I hope we do not have to show the AuthorizeNET part.

Somehow the Continue Shopping like from the cart knows the path (maybe just using back), possible to get a checkout link too?

sent a few emails.

This is not the problem but the line in aisec_instructions, I believe is not correct in the path

4. Open "..\PrivateAssemblies\DesktopModules\ECommerce.vbproj.webinfo"

The fact that someone else has seen this error but does not remember how to fix it or what was done accidentally to fix it.... ;) .... must be a solution.

Hey Brian. It shouldn't error as host or a user. Are you doing a setup for the US? I know we have some internationalization (read: anything other than US) issues.

Also, not long ago another version went out at http://www.activeinetservices.net that fixes some miscellaneous bugs.

If you get a stacktrace *with* debug symbols, send it to sean at activeinetservices . com and I'll be happy to take a look.

well, after thinking that some new dll's that dnn uses were copied too... I decided to rebuild dnn and everything works fine.

AND this is free!!! I might need to make a small donation.

Of course, I just tried again and errors. So, if I am logged in as host it errors. If I am logged out it works just fine. I need to see what happens if logged in as a user.

I thought it will pick up the id and password from the logged in user?

I placed products, orderbar and checkout all on top row. Everything is fine with only products... add anything else and boom. With only products, add to cart gives same error. It is always the same error.. .RegionDB.

Surely this should be easy to figure out.

I remember some modules (ec_Checkout etc) must be on top level (same as home tab), you'll get some problems if put checkout on menu level 2 or 3.

I did add them all. The error seems to be related to regions, are the DNN regions not set correctly or something.... I went through the code, tables are there ok... any ideas?

You will need add up to 7 tabs (modules) to DNN, see detailed docs under Ecommerce\Document on how to use and set up AIS-EC.

Yes I got the same error as well. Funny thing is tried it few hours later and it worked :-\

Does anyone have a full production site up using this? It looks very interestign and has lots of good features but it looks like it would take some work to get stable as well as cleaned up visually.

Also does it support multiple fixed shipping options?

followed each step, setup one product, tried to add to cart and receive this error:

AIS-EC 1.0.5 works well with Private Assembly and PA folder, but we have lots problems with previous versions.

I tested and found:
You DO NOT have to re-complile DNN and AIS-EC, the only 2 functions may not work are ec_ExportData.aspx and ec_ViewOrder.aspx. But those are additional features, you may never need.

If you have done other DNN module installation before, you should be able to set up AIS-EC 1.0.5 in 10 minutes by following below steps:

Tested on DNN1.1.1.10d

1. Unzip the AISEC-1.0.11.zip file to the DNN root directory. This should put the necessary files in the DNN root directory, and create a subdirectory for the other files in <DNNRoot>\PrivateAssemblies\ECommerce
2. Install the following seven .DNN files in the DNN module installer
Checkout.dnn
Exporter.dnn
OrderBar.dnn
OrderManager.dnn
Products.dnn
RepManager.dnn
SKUBuy.dnn
When upload .dnn file, choose <DNNRoot>\PrivateAssemblies\ECommerce\*.dnn
3. Run the \PrivateAssemblies\ECommerce\ECommerce.SQL step
4. Add a line in your Web.Config file that reads
<appSettings>
<add key="smtpserver" value="MAIL.YOURDOMAIN.TLD" />
</appSettings>
And replace YOURDOMAIN.TLD with your actual SMTP server. If your Web.Config file already contains a <appSettings> section, then simply add the smtpserver <add> entity to this section.
5. Copy following files in the PrivateAssemblies\ECommerce\bin\ directory to the DNN\bin directory:

EC.dll
EC.pdb (if it exists)

6. Ready to go:
6.1 add ec_product module through DNN
6.2 add new product
6.3 Add New Category (click this button first)

Where do the DNN install files need to be located in order to have them show i nthe installer? I have unzipped the fiels as described but they do not show. I assuem they are a level to low in the Private Assembly folder. Should they not be under the DestopModules\Ecommerce?

Installation instructions seem a bit confused.
