Hey my question isn't exactly about "Migrating" but more about integrating.
I wish to merge ASP.NET with Java. I've looked around, and saw that over JAVA boards people praising "Mainsoft"..

So I made some searches and found that they got Java .NET Interop solution - And I wish to get some honest objective from ASP.net fans

This page over their website saying their software make capable to companies to deploy ASP.NET applications as pure JSR 168 portlets.

Anyone ever had any good experience with them?

J2EE to .NET Conversion

Hi,

I have a J2EE Application written in Java 1.5 which I need to convert to .NET architecture. Could you please let me know if there are any tools available for converting the application completely with minimal manual intervention?

If I need to develop a tool to that can do this conversion(so that future versions also can be converted easily) what is the approach I should take? Any inputs on this would be really helpful as I am relatively new to .NET.

From the java world I am familiar with the AJP13-Protocoll to connect Apache ( located in a DMZ) to a tomcat App-Servers. This Approch means, that the Apache-Server acts like a Proxy for the Tomcat für dynamic content (JSP-Pages). The Communication betwenn this thiers is based on the AJP13 Protocoll. I would use a similar Approch for a Aps.NET Project. Is this approöch possible with the .NET Tech Stack.

Mapped Diagnostic context for .net

We have used the Mapped Diagnostic Context (MDC) in Java to store local values to be used later for logging purposes like the username, sessionId, etc. Currently we are converting to .Net and we want to make use of the Enterprise Library 4.0. for logging and exception handling. I am looking for the MDC equivalent for .Net. Any leads on this will be very useful.

Form Processing Question

I know i can set a form action to "" and have it be processed by the page its on.
However, This isnt good practice especially for large applications

In JSP you have a form, it gets submitted to a servlet, that servlet processes it, then sends an appropriate redirect

Ex: form action="loginHandler.jsp">>>loginHandler.jsp(process & send redirect)>>failedLogin.jsp or home.jsp;

Is there an equivalent to this in ASP.net? Heres what Im trying to do

Java Web Service responds to either of two RequestNamespaces.

I have the thankless task of moving some of our existing web services from a Java based solution to ASP.Net. During the testing, we have discovered that we have clients that access the service using different wsdl definitions. The definitions appear identical except that the RequestNamespace has been changed.

I realize that once a service is released, the namespace shouldn't be changed. However, that was done long before I got here. The question now is: how can I make an ASP.Net web service respond to the request no matter which namespace the client uses? Fixing the clients to be consistent isn't an option. This is supposed to be a back-end infrastructure upgrade that doesn't affect clients.

Medical system in JSP of capnography - how to read DB in ASP.NET?

I've got an important data getting from a system by "Oridion" which is JSP - after I checked their website (it says data is about capnography area to monitor info for people). DB got to be available in ASP.NET for the new system to acquire physiologic status from all patients.

How can you help me with that? any guide? any efforts like that with this kind of medical systems?

Hi,

I currently run a Windows 2003 web server and iis 6.0 which is behind a firewall. I also have a Windows 2003 application server that is behind an additional firewall.

The iis web server passes .jsp pages to the Tomcat application server via the iisTomcatRedirector.

My question is, what is the best approach (hardware wise) to accomplish the same thing for .net?

I want to be able to do the same sort of redirect, if possible, for .net as I do in the Tomcat instance. Is there a similar solution for IIS and .net or do they both have to running on the same physical machine?

From the java world I am familiar with the java content repository as a standard, implementation independent way to access content bi-directionally on a granular level. (It's basically a standard for content repositories for content management systems, or as they call it "a high-level information management system that is a superset of traditional data repositories, [which] implements 'content services' such as: author based versioning, full textual searching, fine grained access control, content categorization and content event monitoring.")

I was wondering if such a specification exists in the .net universe, or if anybody has developed an implementation API for .net of the java content repository.

I tried with:

but wheni try to call RSA.Encrypt() i get 'The key status is invalid' or something like this

Any idea?? :(

I've a Java WEB service (created with NetBeans 6.0) that recieves a xml file, use a class code to encript it and send the response back in Xml. As I'm a real noob in java, I was wondering if it's possible to convert that WEB Service, or just the class (the web service is just an interface) to C#.net class.
