HI All,

I am working on SSRS 2005 since 10 monts and now I am facing some problem when I am using Reportviewer.ServerReport.LoadReportDefinition. When I am using htis then Sub reports are not working while redaring the report.

Does anybody knows about this

Hi Karen,

how can i deploy a rdlc file to report server by vs 2008?

i have no way to do this so i set the reportviewer to run the local rdlc, but i got following error:

An error has occurred during report processing.
- Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
  - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

should you please advice a solution? thanks

BC30002: Type 'IReportServerCredentials' is not defined.

I haev form based authenticated reports . How to pass credentials for the reports?

I figured it out. I put the parameter before the ServerURL and ReportPath. It works after I switched the order.

The datasource works. I can get the report by using the following URL:

http://ServerIP/ReportServer/Search%20Pages/Report.aspx?%2fnsPortalReports%2frptIssuesByRole&rs:Command=Render&intProjectID=119&RunBy=DYW

I lookup on the internet. Some sites mentioned to supply the RDL file in LoadReportDefinition. Didn't I supply the RDL in the ReportPath? Thanks.

Local reprot is a report thats been located inside asp.net website like if u right clcik on ur website in visual studio and click add (the way u add a form) you can also add a report to the asp.net project... and serverreport are the reports thats located in the report server..

check ur credentials for the datasource in your report in visual studio... make sure u have give the right username and password save the password for the database and click on test connection and run it in VS and then deploy it again to the report server and trying running it from ur website

I have other questions. What is difference between ReportViewer1.LocalReport and ReportViewer1.ServerReport? When I search on the internet, people use LocalReport instead. Now I got through the ReportPath and the Parameter. I got an error "The source of the report definition has not been specified". How do I specify the definition using ReportView1.ServerReport.LoadReportDefinition? Thanks.

I change the param(1) as follow and works. I don't understand why it takes variable but not session variable. Thank you so much for your help.

Have u tried declaring Dim runby as string = Session("Whatever") and then assigning it to a parameter... cause i remember getting the same problem and may after doing that it work... or something like that....

I got a squiggle line under param(1). The error is

"Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'New' can be called without a narrowing conversion:
  'Public Sub New(name As String, values() As String)': Argument matching parameter 'values' narrows from 'Object' to '1-dimensional array of String'.
  'Public sub New(name As String, value As String)': Argument matching parameter 'value' narrow from 'Object' to 'String' "
