I use Firefox 3.5 and I have the enhanced editor enabled. When I post code, I paste it directly in and then format it as Courier New.

No doubt there is a good reason why the enhanced editor is not enabled by default.

It's an absolute mess.

What this forum needs is a solid support for BBCode style editing, with automatic hyperlinking. WYSIWYG editing has no real value in a forum, especially when it's actually WYSIHWYGBMLINEC...

Unfortunately, I see more and more such cases. They make reading the code quite difficult. I report all the cases where I see it, but not sure what the correct course of action should be. Obviously it's too much work for moderators to fix each case, but on the other hand, it makes answering questions quite a hard task.

I do care. In cases the text of the code is not readable, I can not understand the problem or suggestion. I can use Alert Moderators button instead of posts to this thread for later cases, though.

Thanks, but you don't need to keep posting these sorts of links to this thread. In most cases the original poster will fix the problem themselves, inform the moderation team, or just leave it go if they don't care.

If you paste in code into a message, and then decide to delete the code, my recommendation is to go to the HTML view of your post and delete the code. Then you can Update and go back to the regular view of your post and insert the code again.
