True for 1, 2, 3. The default web page seems to point to someplace not indicated in its properties. (c:\inetpub\wwwroot) It is as if the default page is being rerouted. Yet I cannot identify a handler or module that is doing so.

The IIS not installed message seems to be bogus.

MVC is installed.

Can you see a hello world page in IIS? Is it configured for ASP.NET? Do you have a default web site? Have you looked at the event logs?

Vista is Business 64.

As I said IIS is installed and IIS 6 Compatibility mode is on.

That is why the message is confusing.

Hello,

If your OS is Windows Vista (Premium and above), then consider following things.

You can not install IIS with Vista Home Basic.

Can you see IIS services as part of Windows componants installed? or

Start -> Run -> inetmgr (Enter)

If IIS is installed on your machine, it will open IIS Manager.

If not, you need to install it through Windows Componants (you will find it in Control panel -> Add/Remove Programs)

After successful installation, try and run 'inetmgr' through command prompt.

It will open IIS Manager for you.

I am trying to run aspnet_regiis.exe -i

I am using a Vista 64 box with IIS installed and IIS Compatitibility on

I get the message:
